Great review Justin, I highly agree with you that American wedding is underrated.

I really like the American Pie movies and especially like #3. As you say, Justin, there's something likeable about most of the characters, something pleasant about the way they are just normal, slightly awkward people just trying to get by. Its not an easy time being a teenager and worse, my teenage years seemed to stretch on for far longer than the usual 7 years everyone else went through The American Pie movies make the effort to have some empathy and sensitivity of that, as well as to be genuinely funny. A friend said it all when he stated that American Pie II was ok, but seemed to get bogged down by trying to have all the characters from the first one in the second and not really giving them all something to do. Pie III resolved that by focussing on Jim & Michelle and completely dropping Oz and his girlfriend. It is a better movie for it, IMO. "Band Camp" I liked a lot. Much more than I actually thought I would. Like Justin says, most straight to video movies that officially part of the franchise (the first one I ever heard of was Cruel Intentions 2 ) pretty much sucketh the asseth. This one didn't and although we were force fed an hour and a half of Stifler 2.0, I thought it worked well. I really enjoyed the way "Matty" wasn't just a carbon-clone for the sake of it, they actually gave him a reason for the way he acted. Stifler Snr is basically just a w*nk*r. Stifler Jnr is just acting like a w*nk*r. "Band Camp" is all about just wanting to be liked and being someone you aren't for that very same reason. By the end of the movie, Matty is on his way to sorting this out but isn't there yet. And I liked all the support cast too! Overall, good stuff, I felt especially considering its nature. Better than Tremors 3 anyway!
