Great job, m'lady. Oddly enough, your review put Logan's Run on my to-watch list, despite your insistance that it's really a 'wait-til-it's-on-cable' movie.
I don't care. I'm renting it.
I'm on vacation, sipping a homemade cappuccino and listening to Cake while I read your review, and it's sunny and I labeled that moment 'paradise'. So congratulations.
But really Shalen, you do such a great job at not only reviewing, but picking your films. You're not all over the place, you devote yourself to the type of cheesy sci-fi/horror/whatever movies...it's hard to classify your movies but every one is definately Shalen-esque. And all your reviews are casually sarcastic and very witty.
Hooray!

Wow. Thanks. That's always nice to hear. I do pick the ones I actually review pretty carefully, given the number of movies I normally watch. I'm gonna do Zardoz sometime soon, though. Then you might be sorry. I'm sorry I forgot to do a dedication for the person who requested this review, but hey, it's all for you Mutant Readers out there!

This is a bit off topic, but there's a song called "Giant Spiders" by Devin Davis. It seems to reference several apocalyptic movies (or at least several different ways the world can end). There's a part that makes me think of Logan's Run
Or I could be overanalyzing things. It is a fun song, and the science geek in me likes that the chorus "I won't sit still 'til I'm upside down in the back of your eyes" is just an overly technical way of saying "Until you see me again."

The album is called Lonely People of the World, Unite! It's available on iTunes and Amazon.com. You can probably find the song if you do a Google search--it was on some music blogs last year (which is how I heard of it). Several songs, including "Giant Spiders" are also available on Devin Davis's myspace page.

I remember a really funny Family Guy joke about this movie.
I've only actually seen it when I was like 12, but I think my father owns it (but I doubt he'll lend it to me). I don't really want to see it too much but the review was great.

Don't you guys get TCM? It's like once every couple of months on there. Interesting how Logan's Run city thing and surounding environment looks a bit like, kinda, maybe, Aeon Flux (the movie). Notice how in the future humans live in one metropolis-like-city (not anime Metropolis) and in the rest of the world nature retakes over, i love that, nature rulz.
