Shalens Happiness of the Katakuris Review

Wow a review dedicated to me huh, I feel so special ;D.

I must say I think that was about as good a review of the movie as is possible considering how completely bizarre and random it is. It really is something you actually have to see as words really don't do it justice.

Like I said though I think the review described the movie as best as it could and I just hope it encourages other people to check out this very unique film.

As for Shalen forgiving me about Ichi The Killer, well I did warn you that it was a very violent movie though maybe I should've stressed that point more. Would love to hear your opinions on it though.

It's not the violence that is the problem. It's that (according to the Netflix summary, since I won't watch it) the main plot is blatantly sadomasochistic and sexual in a way having nothing to do with corsets and handcuffs. And that is NOT cool for viewings by me. I don't watch Troma films, either.

Well the review did encourage me to see it, and I gotta tell you, it really is something worth a viewing, the first musical number I enjoyed a lot. So yeah I also hope many more forumites see it and go..."Wow....it IS weird, but really unique"

AND I have also watched "Ichi the killer"(I don't need no stinkin' summaries), I watched it because mrshady said it was VERY violent, and I was expecting wall-to-wall death, maiming, slashing, slicing and dicing. Well I did get that, and usually it did get on the walls but the movie didn't overdo it. My personal oppinion is that if you can watch a series of vampire movies and Kill Bill vol.1, and maybe just maybe enjoy seeing a guy beeing hung from the ceiling with hooks in the sking of his back and then boiling oil beeing pored over him, you're ok that's the maximum of torture you get, the rest is just tipical japanese huge and impossible quantities of blood gushing from the neck and the odd internal organ here or there.

So thumbs up for mrshady, shalen, and both "The Happines of the Katakuris" and "Ichi the killer"
