Sue, branch outside of Studio Ghibli, try Millennium Actress. I know you'd like it. Or Tokyo Godfathers (but definitely Millennium Actress). Just stay away from Perfect Blue.

I'm completely with you on this one, Sue. A lot of my friends in college recommended it to me (including my ex-boyfriend), but when I finally got around to renting it about three years ago, my reaction was "Pretty...huh?" A movie that's gorgeous to look at, but very hard to figure out.
