Seriously though, loved the article, the perfect length, not too long and not too short. You made all the major points of reference between the two and seem to know your source material well.

Extra points for simply bringing more anime onto the site (same goes to Sue for keeping an open mind and trying out another anime!).

We should hang out sometime Shalen, we seem to have a similar mentality about alot of things, judging from most of your reviews and comments. ;D

Thanks, guys. I absolutely loved Hellsing, and then I saw the first D cartoon and had to note some striking similarities (and differences). I know I wasn't exactly impartial, but I'm glad someone liked the article.

I can't figure out why Old-Lady-Style Floppy Hat = Vampire in the anime design consciousness, but it's hilarious. Alucard grinning maniacally out from under a hat just like my Mom's Red Hat Society one just tickles me no end.
