Overall- yay! Good Review!
2 things, though- At one point in the comics, April was an antique dealer, which is what they've revisited in this movie, which actually made me very happy. The TV Reporter thing started with the cartoon, I think.
Also- I'm pretty sure that there were 4 generals in stone. And the female one definitely did look like a lollipop with breasts.

This October I'll be walking 60 miles in 3 days to raise money for cancer treatment and research. As a way to keep myself motivated and humble, I have decided to dedicate each mile to a different person who has fought cancer. Great review! You brought up a few points from the movie that I'd forgotten almost immediately after leaving the theater.

I'm personally leaning toward this being more of a direct sequel to the original movies, partly because "Didja Notice" that the shredder mask in Splinter's room looked like the one from TMNT2 and the staff-thing looks quite a bit like the time-displacement doodad from TMNT3. Just IMHO, though.

Love your reviews, by the way. The footnotes are hilarious!
