Nice review, Justin! Like you said, it was at least as much about the nature of magic as about the movie itself, but entertaining nonetheless... that's a hard film to talk about without spoiling stuff. Good job!

Likewise, nice viewing! Pats on the backs for all!
I look forward to seeing it for a second time, since movies like this change after you know the big reveal(s). I think it should hold up nicely, considering how talented the acting and cinematography was.

I think I'd notice a lot more the second time around, seeing as how I spent all of the first movie trying to figure out the big secrets. (In a good way, but still. It was distracting.) Definitely a very different movie from The Illusionist, which I also really did enjoy.

You know, I think this kind of movie is really lost on me, because I'm always too curious and look up the spoilers beforehand...
Nice review, Justin. And nice Mutant Viewing the other folks, btw.

"Julia's Funeral ANGIER: Which knot did you tie? WHICH KNOT DID YOU TIE? BORDEN: I... I don't know. ANGIER: HOW CAN YOU NOT KNOW? BORDEN: I just... don't know. ANGIER: YOU SON OF A *****! BORDEN: Look, I'm really sorry... [Clearly unwelcome, Borden starts to shuffle away.] ANGIER: WOLVERINE COULD TOTALLY KICK BATMAN'S ASS. BORDEN: YOU TAKE THAT BACK! [And thus, a rivalry is born.]" - The Prestige in Fifteen Minutes (I highly recommend all of Movies in Fifteen Minutes, but this one is probably my favorite. Language Warning) Man this movie just has excellent acting. I still find myself thinking about different character motivations and subtleties. I have the book in my infamous pile o' books waiting to be read. I think you did a great job of balancing the feel of the movie by describing the mutual understanding of trickery between the audience and a magician, and trying not to give anything away on a very spoiler sensitive movie, Justin. Good show! Haven't read the Mutant Viewing yet. But I will. EDIT: AND BY THE WAY, I noticed there's no Soundtrack Review. Do I get a prize for not only noticing this, but reading that far down the page? Huh? Huh?

M15m roxxorz my soxxorz. No, seriously. I mean it.
My favorite of theirs isn't that one, though - it's probably Troy ("Totally his cousin!") or Arthur ("Oh my one brave knight!" "Oh my one brave ENTIRE ARMY!!").

Hildago is also a vurry good one. I've actually taken to using "Sexy Infidel" in everyday.
