AHA! Finally my day has come!!!!! Muahahahaaaaa! I have waited for this moment for a long time Sue, watching every word, every single little tiny combination of letters for just this day. And now the end is finally here! As a former southerner (4 years in South Carolina, 3 years in Virginia in my 27-year life), I can say this with some degree of authority. Y'all is a contraction of "you" and "all", thus the apostrophe should be between the "y" and the "a", not between the "a" and the "l". TAG! You're it! P.S. This is a joke post. P.P.S. Half joke post. P^3.S. Okay, I was just bored and jealous of Sue being a mutant and jealous of her great reviews and perfect grammar and sentence structure. DAMMIT! ;D P^4.S. Farscape fans 4 frelling life!!!!

Except that you need to understand that I am not, in fact, a southerner. My accent lies between Pennsylvanian and Wisconsinese, which, in essence, gives me a free ride to mangle the language in any way I like. Ya, you betcha, uff da hey and yo, gimme some cheesesteak or I'll bust yo face. Yo.
Bear in mind, if I'd been raised in the central/western section of Pennsylvania (specifically the Johnstown area) it would have been perfectly permissible to refer to the reader (or readers) as "You 'uns" or "Y'uns". Be grateful that I spared you that.
P.S. How weird is it for my first ever celebrity crush to have been on Kent McCord, and my latest crush on Ben Browder? Am I crossing too many generational lines or what?

How funny. I have relatives in Missouri (Cape Girardeau, not that far from Hannibal) who say "You'uns." It's definitely a laughably bad movie, albeit one I own and still watch periodically for its sheer awestruck stupidity. I loved your list of synonyms.
