Good review- I'm very much agreed with you about this one.
Also- YAY Dorney Park reference!!!! I can actually see the top of Steele Force from my office window right now! I'm amazed that I didn't know that they shot those scenes, here!

Ironically, I just bought this on DVD a few days ago. I really had fun with it, but I've seen the recent remake AND I have the Broadway cast album, so I'm more familiar with the material. I'm a fan of classic rock and I do recognize a lot of the songs from this film. (As well I should - I also have the soundtrack to this movie.) You might enjoy the splashier musical more. As much as I enjoyed it, it's low-budget origins do show, and it's a tad bit lower-key than a lot of people probably expect (especially coming from the high-energy remake).
