dang it! too much to choose from!
friday the 13th: from crystal lake to manhattan ultimate dvd set [the first 8 films] - not uncut and not featuring the copious extras it could have, but i don't own any of the first 9 on dvd, so it will be mine!
fahrenheit 9/11 - dude, it's incredible! saw it twice in the theaters: i love it!
"has been", a new album by william shatner - jim. produced by ben folds. featuring, among others, "Jon Auer, Adrian Belew, Matt Chamberlain, Joe Jackson, Lemon Jelly, Aimee Mann, Brad Paisley, Henry Rollins and Sebastian Steinberg." nick hornby helped write a song. genius.
tony hawk underground 2 for game boy advance - dude. luckily i got into the game late, and just bought my gba around christmas. i'm still groovin' to tony hawk underground, and now the sequel is here? i'm not worthy!
why did i mention this? because all these people were going crazy last week (or two weeks ago? i forget) when star wars came out. and i was like "who cares, star wars sucks! october 5 is the big day, punk!" you know it.
so what are you going to buy on october 5, if anything, that's pop culture related? sliced bread? '70s kitsch? a milkshake? i must know!

I'll skip Fahrenheit, but I'll definitely be buying Weird U.S., the new book by the guys who publish the magazine Weird, N.J. and the book of the same name last year. Turns out weird stuff happens in the other 49 states too. Who knew? (And Sue, I'll let you know if the Hodag rates an entry in the "Bizarre Creatures" section, 'kay? ) Of course, 10/ 6/04 is the real big day for purchases. New issue of Y the Last Man? Comiiiiiiiiiics! -D

Since 10/5 falls on my day off, I'll likely be lounging around the house, which means I won't be doing a lot of buying. I might, might get on B&N and order the Revenge of the Nerds soundtrack.
How about if I use today's purchases--made during the big expanse of wasted time between my morning classes and single, irritating Monday night class--as my entry? Put me down for a pre-played copy of Tiny Tank.

And Sue, I'll let you know if the Hodag rates an entry in the "Bizarre Creatures" section, 'kay? ) See that you do, young man. Not that the Hodag requires a book entry to make it feel special or validated or anything... I don't think it's literate really. And the really cool date this month is Oct 8. My daughter's birthday. She's going to be... eleven. eeeek! Sue

Special Editions of Aladdin and The Shawshank Redemption come out this week, too. I won't be buying them (stupid student loans), but they will both be going on my christmas and birthday list (that's December 1st for anyone who loves me). Also, Ren + Stimpy seasons one and two come out next week, but I can't buy that either. GRR, Al SMASH!
