A most excellent review. I like the analogy with the banana and apple, that movie is one big "Wha???" Someday I might try the director's version, but the taste in my mouth is still too bitter from this waste.

I honestly enjoy the Renegade Edition. In addition to Mulcahy et al earning my respect by eating crow and trying to make amends (on their own dime, no less), they mold a much more watchable and digestable experience out of the garbage that was initially churned out.
I mean, the whole thing is still a preposterous sequel and a pretty terrible movie, but it allows you to enjoy some of the fun stuff that's buried in between the tripe without the rising sense of dread that your time is being wasted.
