In the immortal words of Hudson from Aliens "Game over man".
Saw 4 is probably the worst film I have ever seen to date. Worse than Doom Generation, Elephant, Last Days, Gettin' it and any other bad film I've seen.
Now, some critics may say that, perhaps I shouldn't have even had such high hopes for Saw 4 as the other saw films are just torture porn. What I usually say to that is: Saw, the original, is a genius and original horror film that is as smart as it is thrilling and shocking. The sequels don't really live up to the original in originality or brilliance but at least they still have some entertainment value. Where as Saw 4 is just plain awful despite decent acting and some decent scenes. It's awful because it could have been so much better. It would have been better if they had gotten Leigh Whannel to write it and had put some thought into the twist and perhaps added secrets about characters I wanted to learn.
Also, let's get into the traps. Without revealing much all I can say is that they were brutal but none of them had me paticularly squirming and looking away in disgust.
I wish I could express my hatred against this film in full digest but the profanity rule on this forum does not allow it.
In closing, instead of putting down the film anymore, all I ask is that you, the reader, does not watch this movie, like just don't watch it. I am begging you. If you have yet to see it and are fan of the first 3 saws. Just presume that the end of Saw 3 is the series finale.
