I don't even know if this is the right place to put this, but I didn't see a forum for tech help. I'm trying to get my avatar to show up on my profile, and I'm putting in the URL and the size (it's not over 100x100 pixels) but it still won't show up. Help, anyone?

With luck, someone who can actually offer relevant advice will drop by. As for myself, I can give nothing more than an imaginary pat on the head.

Ah, good old Huckle, replying with encouragement and yet no actual info. Hooray for good intentions! ;D It sounds like you're doing it right, but here's my own screen shot to compare against. I screwed up at first by selecting an Avater (see the red box) and also selecting my picture... the red box is to select a prechosen one. If that doesn't fix it, check your URL syntax. Check you haven't messed up the dimensions (although that should just skew it, not omit it). And make sure the picture is where you say it should be!

The picture I want for my Avatar is at penguinslovedw.deviantart.com/art/Montgomery-quot-Penguin-quot-Scott-79232651That's what it says in the internet address bar thingy at the top of the page when I'm there. If that's not proper syntax, then could you tell me how to change it so that it is? I made sure not to pick any pre-selected avatar, typed the above address in the Avatar URL box, specified the size as 100x100 pixels, then pressed "Modify Profile". Those are all the steps I made, could be I made a mistake in one of them. I hope I'm not frustrating you. Keep in mind that my computer teacher (both of them) said I was a "hopeless case" in terms of computer skills. And thanks for the pat on the head, HuckleBubba! Would I be wrong in asking if your signature of "But would you eat an animal...figuratively?" comes from DinoComics?

I don't know this for sure, but I suspect DeviantArt doesn't allow offsite linking of images they host. In other words, you can see the picture on DA, but not necessarily by linking to it from elsewhere on the internet.
I can always put a copy of it on my webspace and give you a link, but not until later. I'll let you know!

Or you could right click on it, save it to your desktop, then upload it to ImageShack. It's the service that I use. It's completely free and you don't even have to sign up, just upload on the main page and there you will have a direct link to the image!

ImageShack worked perfectly! Between this and that linking help I just got, I've learned a lot today. Forgive me if I sound gushy, but this is such a nice site, everyone's so friendly. Thank you all!

It's an oasis in the desert that is the Wild Wild Web.

Would I be wrong in asking if your signature of "But would you eat an animal...figuratively?" comes from DinoComics? Asking is never wrong. That said, you are so wrong. Or maybe I am. I yanked the quote in question from the greatest Youtube video ever in the history of mankind; College Saga*. But, Mark Leung may have himself ripped it off of this "Comics of Dinosaurs" that you speak of. *If you have a high-speed connection and 45 minutes of free time, you simply must watch it. As required by law.

Yeah, qwantz.com is the DinoComics place. Even though I'm wrong, you should check it out. This dude uses the exact same panels in every strip, but the words are different. I'm still trying to re-find the "Ten roasted chickens for dinner?! I think the answer to that would be heck yes!!" one. And I'll check out College Saga. EDIT: you're right, College Saga was awesome. Anyone with that much dedication deserves utter and complete kudos. However, I put it to you that this is the funniest thing on YouTube.
