I'm back! I haven't signed in for a while, because I've been working on this huge project: Classic Doctor Who Primer!! There's a lot of love for New Who on this site which is awesome, and I know that people might sorta kinda be interested in Classic Who. Maybe. I don't like to assume. But 26 years of Classic Who (plus one TV movie) can be intimidating: 8 Doctors, about 30 companions, several "arch-villains" and neigh on dozens upon dozens of various aliens, planets, spaceships, and historical figures from one end of the universe the end of another universe light-years away. And that's just in the TV show. There are hundreds of books, short stories, comic strips, audio dramas, and radio adventures out there. Which brings me to the obvious question: is anyone interested? I don't want to take up to much space, and if no one's interested, I really don't want to bore anyone. And this might not even be the right place to be putting this. In fact, it probably isn't, and I'm just sounding stupid now. But if anyone is interested, could you tell me where I could put it? Thank you for reading this and for your time!!

This sounds *so* like something that is completely and totally up my alley ...except I have never seen a single episode of Doctor Who. Sorry, DW. Sounds like a noble cause, though!

I'll be honest, I wouldn't know the difference between Dr. Who and Dr. Mario; in fact, I daresay I probably know more about the latter. (Wears a white coat. Hates viruses.)
However, it could still be a cool project. The brief stuff I've read about the Doc sounds unbelievably complex, even worse than Hawkman's origin, but if your primer is able to distill all that down to something understandable by laypeople, I say go for it. I doubt anyone would mind you starting a "Doctor Who Primer" thread, and if you're going to be writing it anyway (or already have), sure, why not post it?
(That said, I continue to laugh uproariously at Alan Moore's comment that "for the record can I just make clear that I don't even particularly like Dr. Who, and that personally I've always felt that the Doctors following the marvelous and sinister William Hartnell dressed and behaved like unusually flamboyant child-molesters?")
