That is COR-rect, sir! Baron von Richtofen, the feared German WWI ace who shot down 80 Allied planes despite being, by his own admission, not that great a pilot.
Curse you, Red Baron!
You're up, Doc!

Chuck Yeager very nearly did not fly the historic, sound-barrier breaking X-1 flight, and had to conceal a medical condition from his superiors in order to remain the pilot for the test. What was his condition, and how did he get it?

Wasn't he deaf? Can't remember how, though, so I'm probably wrong.

Something had happened to his arm--he had broken or sprained it. I remember reading that he had to use a chunk of broom handle to help him close the cockpit door. I think he got it in a fall, but I can't remember the details.

Sorry, neither affliction is right.
I'll give it a day or so more because of the holiday.

Well, no one else got it so I'll give it to Magill, who was closest.
He actually cracked a couple ribs. He fell or was thrown from a horse.

I really dropped the ball on this one. Sorry about that.
What symptom or symptoms gave diabetes its name?

The Greeks named diabetes mellitus for 2 symptoms--diabetes means "siphon" and diabetics urinate a lot, and mellitus means "honey, because the urine is sweet. They also identified diabetes insipidus which is when a patient produces a lot of dilute urine. That's usually a kidney problem and has nothing to do with what we know as diabetes.
Whoever wants to ask a question, go for it.

Anyway...(oh, how I wish I could think of something pee related...) ...there are six groups of reptiles living today. Snakes, lizards, turtles, amphisbaenians (don't ask), crocodilians...what's the name of the sole genus that makes the sixth? EDIT: There are six now! Whoops!
