Oh, come on, Rich. We all know your being hired was just affirmative action on account of you being from across the pond...

Well. I think all this school stuff is getting to me when I miss these things.
At least I still watch movies. I can take solace in that, right?
Congrats, Lissa. Enjoy your tenure. Um. Well, now there's another member of the Pooly/BDC Elite Fighting Force!
Pooly, we still get ot have the Elite Fighting Force, right? Right?

Oh good. I learned capoeira just so our Elite Fighting Force would look totally awesome and Matrix 1 sweet.

Every time I go a way for a little while something like this happens! Yes, indeed it is said that Bobby is gone, but I very much admire Lissa and am glad she/you got the job! So I'm excited and look forward to reading your reviews! I'm going to go check right now and see if any are up! a_p

Wait, wait, Lissa, I saw your favorite movies...
Does that mean we'll get an October Sky review? One of my absolutest, mostest favoritest movies I ever worked a premiere at?

Thanks again BDC- A half started one is sitting on my desktop right now. Oddly enough, October Sky is the reason I found the Mutants, because I put in a web search for Chris Cooper and came up with Clare's YKTG page on him. Any site that had the sense to truly appreciate him and not be a fan girl site had to be good. (You just can't be a gushing fan girl over Chris Cooper. It doesn't work. ) I keep telling myself I must watch the movie again to do a fair review (like I haven't seen it 1,000 times and can't recite half of it from memory), but the DVD is tucked away in storage someplace. How it didn't make the top 10 to stay out for the next three months, I really don't know, although I'd guess it was because I watched it right before. But definitely. Absolutely. Have you read the book? And Uber- I'm a Jim's girl, when we actually go into the city. Anyplace but Fatty's (little joint near work). I've tried Pat's, but not Gino's. We don't get down to the city too much. Lissa I'm up way too early on a Sunday morning

Yeah, I read the book. I just love the whole story to be honest. I'm one of those "out of Appalachia" kids m'self, except my talents lie in the political arena instead of any scientific or mathematical one. Regardless, I'd still love to see a review. It'll make you *whispers* my second favorite mutant. Join the Mutant Elite Fighting Force and you'll be first and a half.

Well, that's a bribe I might have to accept It'll get done one of these days soon. I have the book (a signed copy, even!), but I haven't had a chance to read it and it's buried in storage at the moment. Cool bit of trivia: my brother commanded the same cannon squad that Homer Hickam commanded at Virginiatech. Lucky little snot got to meet him in person- thus the reason I have a signed copy. I'm going to start training my own fighting force- finally giving my first lessons in ages. I'm not setting up my own school, but I've got a couple boys that would REALLY benefit from some martial arts training. Soon I shall have minions to do my bidding!
