I don't normally start these feedback threads, but I quite enjoyed Mike's review of Swing Kids. For whatever reason, I'd never felt any pull to see this movie (in spite of my loving the swing fad), but now I'm seriously dying to. Well done!
And by the way, Vancouver was definitely one of the hot spots for the swing revival of the 90's. The scene has died down a lot, but it's still very present. (It's actually how my wife and I met, at a swing dance lesson waaaaaay back in 99)
And as a finishing note: I just saw Big Bad Voodoo Daddy a few weeks ago, and they are just too sweet live. Great show.
Great jeorb, Mike!

I agree. I've been meaning the review this one for a while, but it really necessitates a rewatch. Nicely done, and I totally agree with you about how good a movie it is and that the critics were off base on this one.

It was one of those movies I was going to see, eventually forgot about, and every time I hear the title go "Oh yeah, I wanted to see that." and then forget about again. Okay, it's going on the list and I WILL follow through this time.
Great review, Mike.

Let me get the unpleasantness out of the way: I signed up in order to submit an error correction in the thread upstairs. A petty, petty man, I am.
Now. I guess my first post should contain what I was too lazy to tell you mutants all this time: kudos, thanks and thumbs up! Not the least for this here review, which makes me want to watch a movie I had never heard of before.
That leaves two bits to mention: Love the rating "Cult 5". It is perhaps a slight understatement to call the Nazis a mere cult, but still: very fitting.
And it is good to hear Voodoo Daddy are still playing. Saw them years ago -- good times!

this here review, which makes me want to watch a movie I had never heard of before. Exactly the reason I came to this thread. I'm going to rent this tonight. If I remember.

Agreed. This is one that's been on my radar for a long time, but I haven't gotten around to renting it. I'll put it on the list. Well done, Mike!

Thanks for the feedback guys. Can't recommend this one enough. Everybody post your own thoughts. I'm eager to hear what those of you who haven't seen it yet thought.

A little late to the party here, but I thought it was a great review too. And thanks for saying that Branagh was uncredited - it had been driving me crazy why he wasn't, and was pondering the possibility of a doppelganger.
