Courtney! I'm glad I finally got to read some of your stuff. Great job! The "epic hero" thing made me grin. Though I think "Garfunkel" sounds more like the name of an annoying yet villainous character the heroes would meet during their quest. But still....

Sarsgard has a very Middle Earth location sound. Like they're under siege, "We must defend Sarsgard! For Saaaaaarrrrrsgaaaaaaaarrrrrrd!"

I've had 'Sounds of Silence' playing in my car for the past 3 days, FYI. Husband's favorite movie is the Graduate, too, and it's up on the list for me, as well. I still really Loved Garden State. I didn't think it was the end all be all coming of age type thing, but there was a real sincerity about it that I appreciate. Plus, Jersey girl who likes indie music and Scrubs. And it had Jim Parsons.
I appreciated your review, though. You're right and I agree with most of what you said. Maybe the difference for me was that I didn't experience much hype leading up to seeing it. If I had seenanything comparing it to The Graduate prior to seeing it and had that planted in my head, I think I would have been really dissapointed
edited because somehow half my post didn't show up- boo that!
