I'd like to see more Baz Luhrmann movies, period. He's only done 4 movies in 16 years: Strictly Ballroom (1992), Romeo+Juliet (1996), Moulin Rouge (2001), and Australia (2008). All four have been stunning (I know I haven't seen Australia yet, it comes out tomorrow. But having seen the trailers and knowing Baz, can you honestly say you don't believe it will rock?) He's rumored to do the Wicked adaptation in 2010, so maybe he's picking up a bit. I'd be really interested to see Luhrmann's Alexander the Great project that fell apart four or five years ago. I suppose it may happen some day (once Oliver Stone's lead balloon fades from memory), but probably not with Leo DiCaprio and Nicole Kidman as Alex and Olympias. Scorcese was trying to make an Alexander project a while ago, too, which may have been interesting.

There are quite a few that I think would be cool.
1. James Cameron's "Spider Man". He actually wrote a script for it (Cameron came up with the idea for organic web-shooters as opposed to mechanical) The down side... Arnold Schwarnzeneger as Doctor Octopus. um........
2. Darren Aronofsky's "Batman" I didn't get the whole synopsis, but basically Alfred Pennyworth would have become "Big Al" the african-american Mechanic. I'm sure it would have been visually neato.
3. Kevin Smith's "Superman Returns" Smith had a script written and actually had a sit down with producers. I'm sure everyone has seen the "Evening with Kevin smith" movies. I have not seen either of them, but I heard that he tells his story about it. I got to go to his Q&A panel and then meet him at San Diego comic-con in 2000. He never really filled us in on the meat of his script, but he told us how the producer he met with was going to desecrate it. (Superman losing his powers, Brainiac fighting Superman's "guards" at the fortress of solitude, Superman's robot assistant basically being the gay black dude from "Chasing Amy", Oh yeah... Superman fighting a giant spider in the 3rd act.) Producer's are imbeciles.
4. "The return of jesus" No... not "son of god" Jesus, but Jesus Quintana from "The Big Lebowski". John Turturro is actually bugging the Coen brothers to pen a script for a no-budget, straight-to-dvd spin-off of Jesus the pedarast bowler. I don't know where to start.
5. Me personally, This is only an idea out of my own twisted mind...
Daniel Craig's James Bond vs. Jason Bourne. Never happen, but a guy can dream.

I know this doesn't quite fit in with the topic, but it still does a little bit. I have no idea if that makes sense, but I'm plunging ahead anyway. There's this marvelous book 1001 Movies to See Before You Die and it is my dream that I somehow manage to see all of them. You know, just so I can say "Yeah, I did it. How'd you like them apples?" But there are some movies that I doubt I'll ever be able to see. Take "Körkarlen" for instance. How the heck am I supposed to get my hands on Swedish silent horror cinema? If I can't get it from Netflix, the local library, or Family Video, that's basically it. Or "Deus E O Diabo Na Terra Do Sol", realist drama from Brazil in the 60's? Has anyone else here ever been going along IMDB or eBay looking for fun new movies to watch, found one and said "Oh wow, this looks so awesome, I...oh wait darnit, it's not in NTSC"?

I would love to see "Pet Sematary" with Bruce Campbell as Louis Creed. He was originally supposed to play him. That probably would have been too funny. I don't trust Campbell as a dramatic actor. Although... maybe a lot of people wouldn't have bitched about The Truman Show (which I loved) so much had Campbell been the star of that.
