I run in a group where, when we recount someone throwing a hissy fit, we totally start quoting "'Clap your hands,' he says!" Thank you, Chico, for enriching my life. (Also, "Har, har, har." but that's got nothing to do with Chico)

Honestly though, I love this movie. I mean really really love this movie. It's right up there with Tombstone as one of my favorite Westerns (not for the same reasons, but I assure you this is a great compliment with me).

Also, watch out for Robert Vaughn. I'm guessing he phoned in most of his performance so that he had enough energy stored to gasp and writhe like a weasel in a threshing machine for the length of one embarrassingly overacted scene.

I rented this back in the spring. I don't remember all of it (most people don't remember things they've seen after they had to get up at 4AM to work at 6:30), but I do remember that A), yeah, I thought Chico was a whiner, too, and B) while I generally enjoyed all those manly-man vibes, I also found the whole thing to be a tad overacted and a bit slow...but like you said, some of that might have had more to do with the 60s.
