"I just couldn't stop laughing. Hysterically. I almost busted a rib."
Although I haven't read the book or seen the movie, I am too in the above condition. Strange. Why might that be? Could it be because... You da man?!
Also, thanks for the bit about Samantha Carter. If you appreciate her, I can worship her without seeming a geek, right?

Gotta agree with dex, Sue. That was one of your best yet.
SOM2 is SO gonna kill you. Tell her if she does, Santa won't bring her an Edward of her own.

as a knitter, I'm mildly offended. But I'll forgive you, because that review was hilarious. Hope you don't get hurt in your sleep!

Thanks guys! (And gals!) I'm really glad you enjoyed it, because I really enjoyed writing it. Yep, SoM2 is gonna hurt me. I'm kind of hoping she gets a little out of line before she gets to read it, so I can ground her from internet access forever. (Oh, and I'll apologize for the knitting reference, but the fangirls are just going to have to take their lumps on this.)

I'm totally going to be hearing references to how sand is rough and skin is soft whenever I get around to seeing this now!
Excellent review, Sue!
At the risk of incurring SoM2's wrath, I had the exact same reaction. When it got to the *sparklies* I laughed to the point of snorting (a rarity, I assure you).

Awesome review! There are lots of good reviews on this site but if I ever needed an example of what exactly a "Mutant Review" is, this is the one I would turn to. The bad news is that my other half wants to see this movie and I agreed to go BEFORE reading Justin and Sue's reviews. Thus I have a dilemma: do I risk death at the hands of my other half for letting her down or do I risk death for having to sit through this terrible-sounding movie? ...

Great review, Sue!
I've read all the books. And I am begging begging you. Skip the last book "Breaking Dawn". If you hated Bella so far, you'll open your mouth slack jawed when you discover what Meyer did to our heroine here. (Here's a hint- Remember that 70's movie "It's Alive"?).
It's that bad. I'll probably still catch the movie though. Out of curiousity. "Sparkle" "Sparkle".

Personally, I enjoyed Breaking Dawn the most of all the books. Probably because it was the funniest of all of them. I was crying at one point - hysterical!
Great review, Sue! I don't know how you managed to not laugh at this movie, but congratulations on surviving through it! Hopefully you make out just as well after SoM2 reads it...

Henceforth, whenever I use the term "Classic Sue", this is exactly the sort of thing I'll be referring to.
Watching Sue review a bad movie is akin to watching a skilled boxer working over a total chump; She knows she could flatten him with one shot, and the fight would be over. But the audience wouldn't like that, and moreover, it wouldn't be any fun for her. So she sticks to the jabs, such that by the time that final, merciful haymaker sends her opponent to the mat, the poor yutz is hamburger meat.
A somewhat sadistic characterization, perhaps. But I assure you I meant it as a compliment.

Sue was alive two days ago, but she couldn't talk on the phone. Did the kid ground her? It's hard to say... Alright, Sue, I read your review, and my own little bleeder and I watched the movie. I will say this about our experience: He was not the only boy in the theater. There was one other one. Although, the one other one DID keep his hood up through the movie. We actually laughed during parts of the movie. We agree that Edward can DRIVE. My bleeder is not particularly desperate to become a vampire now, but he DOES see value in any species that has the quality of cars the Cullin family evidently owns. That said, things having nothing to do with the movie disturbed me. I was not the only middle aged woman there. At least 5 came in to watch the movie. Alone. Remind my to buy the little bleeder something special. These women came in alone? To watch Twilight? Mind you, check the date of this post-- the movie's been out for 6 weeks. They have to be repeat customers. Sue, we are behind the times-- this movie is evidently targeted for women our age :/ Ah well. At least they didn't ruin ... I mean, at least it was funny when they.... God. He was just like Anikin, wasn't he? Ahem. Anyway, for the record, I LIKE the books. I really love how the author manages to create a girl who is insecure and more or less mental, without sacrificing our ability to 'see' what is going on. But that said, good luck to the makers of the next three movies (yes, you heard me Sue. They will be making 3 more for your daughter to take you to!) because Edward is gonna have to be a WHOLE lot more sparkly in order to be ANY threat at a festival during daylight. I see students every day at school with shinier noses in the sun. FYI-- Your daughter should probably find another hero to worship-- I hear High School Musical 2361 is coming out soon?

Sue was alive two days ago, but she couldn't talk on the phone. Did the kid ground her? It's hard to say... Hey, that was yesterday! Okay, so it's like this. I had steak cooking on the broiler and I'd just taken in this emergency foster dog (who was reputed to be a creature of the nether hells but is really sort of a marshmallow) and she trotted into the kitchen while I was talking to you and all I could think was that she was going to fry her nose off in the oven and SoM2 was looking at me blankly, not recognizing the inherent danger of fried dog noses on a night when it's raining, the roads are glare ice and the nearest emergency vet is forty miles away and . . . . well, hiya Shan. Welcome to the madhouse that is MRFH. Yep, as of today, I finished reading Breaking Dawn. I also wish the movie makers luck because dang, all the important stuff is pretty much internalized, isn't it? And hmmm....is it just me or did only two of the four books contain any really significant action? (Maybe I'll get a Team Jacob hoodie, just to tick off my kid.)

I am eternally happy that I shall never understand what the significance of "Team Jacob" is. Team Edward, I've figured out. I miss Facebook Flair before Twilight. It was the only Facebook application that I actually liked.
