So... I just got done clawing my way through almost half of the 2008 Video Game Awards on Spike before ultimately giving up, and I have to say it was probably the saddest thing I've ever seen. Aside from getting to see beautiful people look lost and terrified, there was no redeeming entertainment value whatsoever.
Did anyone else catch it? Or was I the only one foolish enough?

I don't watch the VGAs simply because I think CGA games were better. Graphics don't make the game, huckle.
oh... wait.
Well I still don't watch them out of sheer torment over seeing my favorite games as a child REMADE VGA style with new, horrible interfaces but shiny 1993 graphics. The alphabetism VGA is ruined for me
Anything original on Spike is pretty bad. Let me take some guesses what happened:
The camera panned to a big-breasted blonde in the front row a lot.
Lame jokes.
Obvious awards for games that Game informer praised but not the underdog games.
Lame jokes.
Some sort of tie-in to a retro game in a stupid joke.
Lame jokes.
Bad music/light/actor cues.
The best actress award went to whatever Pornstar felt like being in a video game this year.
