*so depressed*
Well I guess that explains why they had his movies on this morning. Now I get to feel all weird about saying "You know, when he was young he was pretty hot" today.

Sadly, the only movie I own with him in it is The Naked Gun. He will surely be missed.

Someone needs to tell 2009 to stop being like 2008...

I was just reading about him in a Trek book yesterday, and Walter Koeing was talking about how wonderful he'd been to work with in Trek II...how he was always willing to work through a million takes, read any line, adjust his performance just for the comfort of the other actors...that's class.
He was such a good guy and such a great actor...a force of nature, really, and the world's lesser for his passing.

And I was just watching "That's Entertainment III" the other day. They included a smokin' hot Latin-themed dance featuring Montalbahn, Cyd Charisse, and Ann Miller (the other two also late - Charisse was on last year's long list) with the ladies fighting over him. And of course, "Wrath of Khan" was the only "Trek" movie I ever liked, thanks to my mother, one of the earliest Trekkies.

Am I the only one old enough to remember him in Fantasy Island? ? No, no. I think you, Duckie and myself might be the only ones though. I mean, to see it before it became reruns.

I can't believe his last performance was as a cow in the absolute WORST episode of Family Guy ever, 'McStroke'. His role was completely wasted, too. Not only did they just use the same 'darling wife' joke over and over again but the 'revelation' that cows are being killed in a meat packing plant is about as shocking and plot-inducing as the sun rising. What were they thinking when they managed to get Ricardo FREAKING Montalban and gave him that script? Now the last heading on IMDB is that crappy episode... he deserved a better going out than that.

I only really ever saw Ricardo Montalban in Star Trek II. Fantasy Island wasn't something that ever made it over to the UK (well, during a time I would remember and I remember Jason of Star Command).
But I offer my salute for a great performance in a great film.
