If I really wanted to barbecue a sacred cow, I'd be much more apt to go after Evangelion. Oh no you didn't!Oh by the way; It's spelled "buttobi", and you may or may not be a naughty boy. But hey, at least you've never accidentally linked to porn. Well I guess, Butopi CPU is still an accepted way of writing it, and yes unfortunately when u say "robot girl anime" I think more of "robot girl hentai" Anyhoo, today's entry, I was gonna say Chobits but considering that the other entries are some ladies that kick ass I'm gonna go with: Kiddy Grade.

Chobits. Because you're chock full of hints. Add to that, it's ubiquitous.

Chobits. Because you're chock full of hints. Add to that, it's ubiquitous. Boom! Yes, Chobits. A member in good standing alongside the diametrically-opposed Elfen Lied in the "have a lead who can only say her own name, and does, 15,000 times" anime fraternity (or would it be sorority?) Another distinction: Chobits is the only entry on this list wherein the obligatory average dude who stumbles upon the cute robot girl is more of a draw for me than the cute robot girl herself. It isn't that I don't like Chii, it's just that Hideki is consistently more entertaining.

It isn't that I don't like Chii, it's just that Hideki is consistently more entertaining. Yeah I never saw the draw for Chii either (aside from looks). If I were a male (and not married)I might identify with Hideki more than be entertained by him. Or maybe that goes hand in hand.

Hideki's hilarious over-reactions to everything somehow never get old, and Chii is only really funny when she's aping the same.
Plus, I'm bothered by the part where Chii lapses into a hallucinatory fugue of sorts, and shares a brief smooch with what appears to be an alternate version of herself*.
Now, normally, I'm all for girls kissing other girls, but in this instance, all I could think about was James Brown**. It weirded me out right proper.
*I'm only about two-thirds of the way through this series, so if I'm guessing wrong here, don't tell me.
**A bag of nonexistent farthings to whoever gets it.

Hideki's hilarious over-reactions to everything somehow never get old True, but I feel like every guy in these kinds of animes and these situations has hilarious over-reactions. And, while hilarious, I guess I never really saw him as noteworthy because of it. And, well, because you're not all the way through the series I shall refrain from further Chii discussion.

Mahoromatic - Automatic Maiden murderdeathdiekill! *beats Id into submission* I mean, er...yay? Well...what with your ginormous lead I think we'll either tie or you'll win. So erring on the most rational side....make him hurt, Eunice!! EDIT: Yegads, I'm bad at math! Congratulations.

Mahoromatic - Automatic Maiden All dirty thoughts may be bad, but this guess certainly was not. Point for Star. And game as well, it would seem. I'm tempted to make Entry Four a two-pointer (It is kind of obscure and recent), just to create the potential for a tie, but I'm pretty sure that would be poop of me. So anyone who thinks they know the answer to Four, have at it.

Megazone23? But, in all fairness, I'd feel bad if that's the right answer cause Star might not be online and have a chance at it. Then again, if it came down to a lightning round between me and Eunice she'd probably pummel me worse than Sue has lately (blast you, Sue, I said ENOUGH with the mace!) EDIT: I just realized how very bad at math I am. Somehow I had decided we would be tied if I got the next question right (even factoring in her awesome three point guess). I bow down to you, oh mighty geeky anime girl. You have won. But I'll get you...next time....(and don't forget to make Kaleb hurt. Please don't forget that. )

Try again. I would draw attention back to my "mgrck" hint. Let me cook up another hint or two... I'm watching (well, more listening to) an AMV of the anime in question, and the same seems to indicate that it goes curiously well with scary metal bands from Sweden (where all scary metal bands come from). Okay, yeah, that isn't a hint at all. Sorry. It is true though. How about this? Chris Sabat, awesome. Luci Christian, also awesome. Carrie Savage... squeaky. But I can dig it.

Hmm... Hmmmmmm...
Solty Rei?*
*I really did have to think on this one (assuming I'm right) because Luci Christian=Princess Tutu, so I got that stuck in my head. And then all I could think of was "alien girl" animes.

Fleeerp!! Sorry, I'm running out of "you got it right" sound effects, and having to invent my own. I enjoyed Solty Rei like burritos, and you know how much I love burritos. Sure, it's a tad by-the-numbers, but sometimes that's what's called for. Also, it makes a much-approved break from the pack in terms of one aspect of its otherwise traditional robot girl anime ending. And, I like it for being the only robot girl anime I know of where the traditional romance between the robot girl and obligatory dude is supplanted by a father-daughter relationship--which is all refreshing and heartwarming and crap--and where the obligatory dude himself is an old grumpy badass, rather than the standard gawky teenager. Yay! Contest over! Lets celebrate by listening to a trance-ified version of the Solty Rei opening theme, set against some random pink-haired chick with strange body proportions and no nose! Motorcycles are good though! Everybody dance! Now, I go sleep. Tomorrow I'll figure out something for a prize.
