It was a good review, but...
I totally get where Heather's coming from now. Next time, Kaleb, to quote the immortal words of Captain Ivan Drago, I will break you. And you've provided all the information I need, now I know what kind of movie will be torture.
Seriously though it was a great review if just for this line:
Classic! And sums up the movie pretty well too.
"(I had no idea Eunice was anime-anything!)"
Really? I've not exactly hid it. ...I think? I know I've mentioned anime stuff on here before.
"Actually, if my Five Words of Japanese That I Know(tm) is up-to-date, 'Shin' means 'Devil'."
"Oni" means "devil" I think, and "shin" can mean a lot of things but the one I've heard most often is "truth," and the others I've heard are positive things. But this is only an 'I think' kinda thing.

And the way you and Heather are talking, you're both nuts if you think I'm going to offer a review request ever again. N-V-T-S nuts!

I'd already counted on that and have plotted ways around it. "Oni" does, in fact, mean devil or demon. Shin I don't know about. "Shi" means death, or the number four. But that probably doesn't help at all.

I looked it up, and it appears "Shin" does mean only happy and wonderful things, and nothing devily or demonish. I guess I just assumed based on the company it keeps, i.e. "Shin" being the name of the devil shaman in Breath of Fire 2; the anime Demon City Shinjuku; Shinjuku appearing again in Hyper Police, and being referred to as "city of beasts" (close enough). Um... Shin Megami Tensei, from whence Devil Summoner is spun off (I had assumed that was simply the English translation). I could go on, but I don't wanna. Okay, that's a lie; those are actually all the examples I can think of. By the way, neat avatar, Heather. Accessorize with a suppressed Uzi, and you'll be ready for a night on the town, raiding the warehouse of a rival gang! Don't become a Chinese dude, though. That would be taking it a bit far. Seriously, I want motorcycle helmets to become acceptable everyday fashion. I would wear one, if they made one big enough.

Shinjuku is a section of Tokyo with Demon City Shinjuku and Hyper Police being set in the future. According to The Keeper of All Knowledge Wikipedia, the name means "new" "station," "shin" "juku."
Shin Megami Tensei would mean... True (or maybe New?) Goddess Rebirth? (my language studies have always been all over the place with huge gaps in between)

If I weren't so lazy and lacking in Photoshops skillz I'd add a suppressed Uzi. Thanks for the compliment, though. I think I also prefer most of my face covered, haha. No really...there's something about a motorcycle helmet that oozes sexy. I won't go into how happy I am that every day my hubby comes home from work on a crotch rocket. Oh and ooh...Hardboiled Warhouse just SCREAMS "gotta watch".

Eddie Izzard must have no audience over there.
" 'Cake or four?' I don't get it."

I actually saw them do something with that in a movie once. A Western, um... Broken Trail. Robert Duvall and Thomas Hayden Church save these Japanese girls from slavery and Robert Duvall names them One, Two, Three, and Four. Well the girls have picked up a little bit of English and Four freaks out. So Duvall names her Five instead.

Usually they use "yon" instead, because of their superstitious nature, but either one can be used. Also they have two words for the number "seven", but I'm not sure why.

It probably means "full frontal nudity". I wanted to disagree and say Seven never did that... but there was this one episode, wasn't it?
