I saw this movie on opening day. For anyone who thinks Seth Rogen is stuck playing similar characters should take a look at this movie from Jody Hill the writer/director of The Foot Fist Way and Eastbound & Down. This is an excellent dark comedy in which you will be repelled by the main character Ronnie Barnhardt's actions while at the same time sympathize with him. I would describe it as Taxi Driver meets The King of Comedy featuring a mall cop. A very subversive film experience.
A quote from the movie that pretty much summarizes it is "I thought this was going to be funny, but it's kind of sad."
9.5/10
Feel free to ask questions and discuss what you thought of this movie.

I hadn't seen it yet. From the trailers I expected it to be another "Mall Cop" (which I didn't see because it didn't appeal to me). I'm very into dark comedies, so I'm going to be sure to check it out now.

[POTENTIAL SPOILER]
I haven't seen the movie, but there has been that controversy that apparently a date rape occurs in the movie... I wonder what people thought about that?

I think it was more consensual because of Ronnie's mental state. He actually thinks he's on the most romantic date of his life but far from it.
