I've seen threads like this on other boards and thought it might be a fun topic to discuss here.
I was watching "Snakes on a Plane" on FX yesterday. It started at 5pm, so it was probably more heavily edited than it would have been if it had come on at 7pm or 9pm.
Anyway, rather than simply muting bad language, they dubbed in different words. Here were the best:
- "Son of a Bask" (Seriously, I had the subtitles on)
- "I sick of these monkey-fighting snakes on this Monday to Friday plane"
So, what are your favorite redubs? Of course there's the classic "Mr. Falcone" from Die Hard 2.
What else you got?

During the line up scene in Usual Suspects they change the line they read off the card to "You fairy godmother!" Cracks me up every time.
Also there's a movie (I think it's a Godfather) where they speak in Italian instead and, if you know Italian, it translates as "Go to France!" My family has been using this for years. "Go to France!" "No, you go to France!"

Is Bask even a real word?
On a positive note, the guy they got to dub for Samuel L. sounded a lot like him.
Here's the thing, though - I've never been one of those people to get all upset about violence on TV, but it does seem pretty strange that you can show gruesome snake bites and stuff like that and yet not have someone whip out a "SOB", you know?

Just remember what the MPAA says: Horrific, deplorable violence is okay, as long as people don't say any naughty words!  |

I like watching The Breakfast Club on tv because it was dubbed in the 80s and the rules about what you could say were completely different, and the dubbing is just TERRIBLE. Some stuff gets dubbed and some is left blank. I don't know why- that always entertains me.
