It's a great series that gives a very unique voice to each of its characters. It does start off a bit slow but when it gets going it gets going. Halfway through the first book I couldn't wait to rip into the rest. The only thing that sucks is the long wait between books. There are two more books planned for the serious (after the current long delayed 5th book due in October... I hope) and I really J.R.R. is able to finish them. I do not want the Wheel of Time to happen to Song of Ice And Fire.

If Muppets were cast in Game of Thrones: Part 1 and Part 2. Sam the Eagle as Stannis? Brilliant! Ditto Robin as Rickon. WARNING: the blog contains foul language, and rags on both Song of Ice and Fire and George RR Martin quite a bit (aka constantly), but I recommend it to anyone who's been grumpily waiting for the fifth book to come out.

That's ace! Particularly all the Baratheons!
Problem is, GRRM says that there are two books coming after this next one, but nothing so far in the novels has indicated that we've reached any sort of midway point. There are too many loose plotlines to be resolved in just two more books, surely?
At least Tyrion will be in the next one. If GRRM ever sacrifices Tyrion to make way for Brienne again, I may have to stop reading this series and just study the synopses on Wikipedia.

Any news on the female members of the cast? I've been thinking Polly Walker as Cersei, but I very much doubt she'd go for a role so similar to her one in Rome... This is probably old news I missed, but Lena Heady will be Cersei Lannister. Me likey.

Well, after my first failed attempt, I took another shot at Game of Thrones, and I'm so far enjoying it. I'm out of the first couple hundred pages and into the actual story, and I'm happy to say you guys seem to have been right. Excellent! In gratitude, I give you the ensemble cast sheet, with photos.
