And the American national anthem can be sung to the tune of "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald". You'd think I was kidding, but I'm not, and it's hilarious.

On a similar note, the Rhyme of the Ancient Mariner can be sung to the tune of Gilligan's Island. Try it sometime! Obscure Personal Fact: My former husband courted me by reciting the Rime of the Ancient Mariner from memory. All of it. For some reason, that made me believe he was an intellectual. Ah, but I was young then and foolish. These days it's free verse or nothing.

THE MELODY TO THE ALPHABET SONG IS "TWINKLE TWINKLE, LITTLE STAR"! ....You're right! I honestly never noticed that before. That's really weird.

Water, water everywhere, And how the boards did shrink; Water, water everywhere Yet not a drop to drink.Well? Anything? We can try Ozymandias if you'd prefer. "I met a traveler from an antique land, who said,..."-D

Well? Anything? We can try Ozymandias if you'd prefer. "I met a traveler from an antique land, who said,..."-D The only part of that I know from memory is "Look upon my works, ye mighty, and despair!" edited because there aren't two "i"s in "despair."

THE MELODY TO THE ALPHABET SONG IS "TWINKLE TWINKLE, LITTLE STAR"! Another song that shares that melody is Baa Baa Black Sheep. (I know this is a little late in coming, but really, I just wanted to see if I could mess up oogieboogieman's brain even more...)

Near them on the sand half sunk a shattered visage lies, whose frown and wrinkled lip and sneer of cold command tell that its sculpter well those passions read... uhm... ....tumtumtumtum.... the hand that mocked them and the heart that fed. And on the pedistal these words appear: "My name is Ozymandias, king of kings. Look on my works ye mighty and despair." Nothing beside them remains.... uhm... tumtumtum. The end. Hey, what do you want at five thirty in the morning? Ozymandias rocks, but there's nothing better than The Cremation of Sam McGee. Classic stuff. (Does your fiancee know you're quoting poetry at another woman? )

'Round the decay of that colossal wreck, the lone and level sands stretch far away.(Does your fiancee know you're quoting poetry at another woman? ) Well, yes, but as a non-English major, I think she correctly interprets that as "nerdy" rather than "seductive." I know, I know... some people. -D

So if MRFH ever needs an anthem, we already have a tune! Spiffy!

ok, not sure how to make a link, but here you go. www.straightdope.com/mailbag/mphonedial.htmlKeyboard number pads (789 at the top) are flipped in order from telephone and ATM number pads (123 at the top). Just really noticed this when I was trying to reproduce my PIN code on a keyboard and I couldn't get the pattern down right.

Anyway, another thing I just noticed...
If you have one of those scroll wheel things on your mouse, you can zoom in and out of a webpage by holding down the Ctrl button and using the wheel!
