I probably shouldn't say that I'm up close to another 500k today, since the overnight reset. But I will I figured that King Kong, as well as the Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe, were massively undervalued after the adjusts. Holiday season, and all that jazz. So, I loaded up in stocks for both, as well as a few choice starbonds. And, I adjusted some of my long-term (read: spring 2006) investments. I'm still not day-trading, although I'd like to give it a whirl, at some point. I'm heading back to work tomorrow, so it may have to wait. Oh, and, I've got a pact with the devil... did I say that? --------------- On edit... D'oh! Speaking of LWW, I just realized that I sold off all my Tilda Swinton bonds BEFORE the adjust... missed out on another 300k.

I just noticed/realized that I am predisposed to dark blue, iridescently chrome-looking cover art on newly released DVDs.
You see, for some reason I started thinking about Minority Report the other day and in turn remembered how I lent my DVD of it to friend a few years ago (who then lent it to his brother) and how I don't care that much that I never got it back. I bought it on a whim from the new release section at FYE before I had seen the movie. Shortly after recalling this, I heard an electrical surge in my head and I was suddenly back in 2004 looking at Underworld on the new release shelf at Best Buy. And I couldn't resist the urge to purchase it. (I hadn't seen it before, either.) So I'm forced to believe that I just can't help it; every time I see a new shiny blue DVD cover I get a powerful lust for some middling slick and glossy entertainment. I think this is the same disease that made me raise a curious eyebrow when the first trailer for Van Helsing was released.

Thread resurrection beam: ACTIVATE!
I don't know if it's confined to this episode or not, but in 22 Short Stories About Springfield (the Tarantino-esque Simpsons episode where the stories just move all over the place and mostly parody Pulp Fiction), I noticed a hilarious little quirk the other night. Just dawned on me.
Herman (the one-armed military store keeper) repeatedly aims a shotgun at different characters during the episode from offscreen. What didn't sink in on me for years is that everytime he does this, there's the distinctive "chk-CHK" of the shotgun being primed from off camera. Which he can't do. Because he's only got the one arm.
Seriously, I don't know if this is a running gag in the series or if it's just the one ep, but damn, I laughed and laughed when I finally clued in on that.

She held the pump with her good hand and brought her arm up and down quickly to activate the pump. Or it could be a gag.

But even if Herman did that, how would he be able to get his finger back on the trigger without dropping the gun?

Simple. He also has telekinetic powers, they're just not fast enough to throw the bullets effectively. That's why he still needs the gun.

I accidentally walked into a women's restroom at Panera's yesterday and spent a few confused moments blinking about and thinking, "Wow, they really went all out with the flowers in the guys' room here!"
D'oh.

I knew someone was going to bring up Sarah Connor. Damn her one armed pumping action! (a phrase we hear Drew yell a lot around here)
Yeah, there's always the noise directly followed by a cut to Herman, hand on the stock. So it would be a gag. One which I really, really enjoyed.

They are actually friends. Either that or they all have evil musical twins. Cause, lets be honest, Panic at the Disco is a lot darker than Fall Out Boy.
I was doin something the other day and thought about the 'Have you seen the ghost of John' rhyme and realized that, for a children's song, it is really morbid. Then I came to write that when I saw that Spiderdancer has pointed this out already through her signature. Now, my question is did I think about that song on my own, or was it a subliminal hint layed by Spiderdancer to trigger in my subconscious way later?
Hmm...

My plan is to eventually have the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court sitting in chambers humming, "Haaave youuu seeeen...."
What? Yes, of COURSE he comes to this web site. You don't think those pictures of Poolman are real, do you? He just says he's Canadian so no one will suspect.

I'm the first to admit I'm practically computeriliterate, but today I finally learned what that mysterious key next to the left ctrl key is for. It's a key that can be used as a right click mouse button! I never knew that. In fact, I've always wondered what that mystery key was for.

Unless you're Jayne Cobb, you never, ever, ever cock a gun when you put it to someone's head. No, you have to wait a while to cock it, preferably as you scream at the good guy. So if someone ever has a gun to your head, you're cool because they still have to scream "You think I'm going to let her go, don't you!" before they get around to mechanics of the operation.
