Okay, this one hurts. Not as bad as when Mr. Rogers passed away, but that's the closest I've got.
John Hughes died this morning of a heart attack. He was only 59.

Yeah. Even more than Michael Jackson, who probably hasn't been exactly well since the late 80s, this is just WRONG. There goes yet another piece of my childhood.

I admit, when I saw the thread title I gasped. The thing is Ed McMahon and Karl Malden weren't exactly young, Farrah Fawcett had cancer, and, like starwenn said, Michael Jackson had problems for a while.
This is just, out of nowhere for me. Wow.
Wow.

And these children that you spit on as they try to change their worlds Are immune to your consultations, they're quite aware of what they're going through.
David Bowie's words, but nowhere better exemplified than in the movies of John Hughes. Of all the recent celebrity deaths, this one hits my nostalgia button the most. What a shame.

Sadly the only John Hughes-credited movies I own are Vacation and Christmas Vacation. I intend to pick up his filmography starting with Ferris Bueller's Day Off then going from there. RIP
