Well, first of all would be waking up. Aside from that, the best omen is hearing a favorite song on the radio on the drive to work rather than the babble of the blithering idiots that are morning DJs.
I don't wanna get off on a rant here, but why would I tune in to a morning radio show only to hear the radio host yammering on about the previous night's TV show du jour. If I cared anything about Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, or The Bachelor, or Joe Millionaire, or Survivor, or any of the other shows that those empty-headed microphone monkeys will prattle on about for hours on end, then odds are I would watch them on TV. And if I watched it on TV, why would I need to hear a recap and that "reporter's" opinion of what the show was like. I can formulate my own opinions about such things, thank you very much Jackie Robbins. When I turn on the radio in the morning, I expect to hear one of 5 things: music, news, weather, traffic, commercial. Anything outside of those 5 things makes me want to drive to the radio station and go "Airheads" on the hosts.
Sorry for hijacking the post for a second there Robert. But hearing a good song is a good omen for the day. Or finding bagels in the break room.

A good omen for me is when I wake up feeling refreshed, and oddly compelled to do something creative. You know, write a novel, etc..
This is generally followed by me getting on the computer, whereby all creativity is sucked right out of me.

My first thought was "good book!"
Mornings tend to be the same until I get in the car. A good omen for me is very little traffic. A GREAT omen is making it to work in under an hour.
The one thing I miss about grad school is being able to walk to the lab. ::sigh::
And Uber, I could not agree with you more!!! I'm not very cheerful in the morning and all I can think is "Shut up and play some freaking music!"

Now you know why I tend to wait for all Johnny's movies to come out on DVD before I see them. I can sit and stare at the screen for hours uninterrupted. Good find J.

A good omen is waking up in the morning with a fistful of hundered dollar bills. Well, that would be if it actually happened. For me a good sign is waking up and not getting really annoyed by a little sister bouncing away on my bed, or my mom calling an hour before I get up "just to make sure I'm up in time for school."

I was just thinking about this! I know I'm going to have a good day when I'm waiting at this one really long light on my way to school and there is this really handsom guy that goes by, in the opposite direction, in a hunter green Porsche. I just call him Porsche Guy.

A good omen is waking up rested, and still not having overslept. Joy.

A good omen is when I open a creamer to dump in my first cup of coffee and find it in a completely liquid (as opposed to solid or chunky) state.
