Just wondering if anyone else is watching GLEE on Fox.
I'm loving it so far, but I'm not sure if it'll work in the long run...

Lady Luck and I are both liking it a lot, though you have to suspend your disbelief pretty far to really get into it. The kids are all broad stereotypes, but you get the sense that's kind of the point, they're shooting for a stylized approach with broad caricatures. I will offer that Sue is my new favorite TV character. "Ladies and gentlemen: caning works. And to all the naysayers out there who say, 'That's illegal. You can't strike children on their bare buttocks with razor-sharp bamboo sticks,' I say, 'Yes. We. Cane.'"

I've developed a policy of not watching new shows until they're cancelled or confirmed to have a second season, but I've been rooting for Glee nonetheless. It looks funny and different but that's not always a good thing on Fox (or network TV in general).

I think most of the time it's kind of hit or miss. But when it's good, it's REALLY good (ex. Single Ladies).
Also, Sue is way too hilarious.

Sue is indeed great. The costume department must've had fun with that zoot suit she was wearing last night.
I will offer that what requires the most suspension of disbelief is the fact that 50% of the songs they use are completely inappropriate for a high school glee club. There's not a school in the country that would sign off on their students performing "Rehab" by train wreck Amy Winehouse. And I'm pretty sure it's inappropriate for a twentysomething male high school teacher to be smiling and gazing into the eyes of his teenage female students as he belts out:
Okay smartie, go to a party, girls are scantily clad and showing body. A chick walks by and you wish you could sex her, but you're standing on the wall like you was Poindexter.
"Mr. Schuester, this is sexual harassment, and we don't have to take it."
