Or is that some kind of ranking? Descending quaility, I hope? Very well.
Goldeneye. Loved it when it came out. I'm not sure if it has aged quite well enough to remain in the Top 5.
The Man with the Golden Gun. Ouch, no. Much too campy!
The Living Daylights. Not bad, but a little high. I've always slightly preferred Licence to Kill. Why don't you like that one?
Thunderball. All right. You know, you should have mentioned Never Say Never Again. Yes, yes, yes, I know. But: Klaus Maria Brandauer. He's not the best villain, but I love how Brandauer plays him: just the right kind of delightful creepy crazy to be able to switch between charming and evil. That's exactly where Thunderball lacked.
You Only Live Twice. A little too high.
The Spy Who Loved Me. I've got a bit of a soft spot for it. A tad higher.
Tomorrow Never Dies. Good grief. Down with it.
The World is Not Enough. Oh, that needs to be higher. It's another one I've got a soft spot for. Maybe because I had a hard time accepting a new M, and here she proves me right by being stooopid.

Thunderball as #9? Arguably the second-best Bond movie, certainly the most influential, hindered only by the too-long underwater sequence and the repetitive filmography on the boat fight? #9. Under The Man with the Golden Gun.
Pistols at dawn, then?

I thought Tomorrow Never Dies was so bad it was denounced as canon, the same way Alien 3 was, by the fans. That's how I remember it. So awful.
Quantum of Solace seemed more like a spoof of Bond Movies, which is ironic considering the first movie this new Bond was in, Casino Royale, was a remake of... a spoof of Bond Movies... Hmm.... HHMMMMM.....
I can't say I'm really that big into Bond Movies, but I'll still take you on with an RCP-90.

I agree with Drew, there's no way Thunderball should be outranked by Christopher Lee's third nipple. The return of Sheriff Pepper, also is not welcome.
As for Tomorrow Never Dies, all I'll say is it's the only Bond movie I know of that has a 99% chance of putting people to sleep.

What?! I haven't weighed in on this one yet? A mistake I mean to rectify presently.
01) Goldfinger (I think we can all agree that this one is amazing) 02) GoldenEye (Brosnan FTW) 03) Thunderball 04) Casino Royale 05) On Her Majesty's Secret Service
Those five I can watch any time of day, all day, without complaint.
06) From Russia With Love 07) Octopussy 08) The Spy Who Loved Me 09) The Living Daylights 10) Dr. No 11) Live and Let Die (mostly because the opening theme is awesome) 12) For Your Eyes Only 13) The World Is Not Enough (say what you will, I liked this one) 14) Quantum of Solace 15) The Man With The Golden Gun 16) You Only Live Twice 17) Tomorrow Never Dies 18) Die Another Day (the opening credit sequence single handedly saved this one from being last on the list) 19) A View to a Kill 20) Diamonds Are Forever 21) License to Kill 22) Moonraker

I must say, I like your style overall.
I do love this movie and it holds the distinction of being the first 007 film I saw in theaters, but the editing of GoldenEye has really started to bug me as time has gone on. I know that's an ridiculous nit to pick for a Bond film, but MTV editing does not become him.
While I recognize the contributions Thunderball has made to the Bond franchise and to pop culture in general, I can't help but find this movie horribly boring. The long, drawn out underwater sequences and the Benny Hill-style fight scene at the end just irk me to no end.
In the top ten? Really? This was the one Bond film it took me years to finally watch from start to finish. It just couldn't hold my attention.
I agree that the theme song is a classic, but everything else about this movie hurts my brain. I stand firm on my placement in the bottom three.
I actually like this one as well, just not as much as the others on my list.
I'm not a fan of Roger Moore's James Bond, but for some reason I've always really liked this movie. More than anyone else I know, actually. I guess I've always liked the idea of Scaramanga as the dark side of James Bond.
People tend to really hate this one and I can understand it. I've always thought it was a decent action movie, though. Just not a great James Bond movie.
I despised this movie when it came out. I really just thought it was one of the worst things I'd ever seen. Now that I have some distance, I can admit there are elements of it that I like but man is it still a stinker.
This is another movie that everyone seems to hate but me. I certainly agree that it's not very good, but I think the absurdity is just pushed so far in this one that I judge it on a different scale.

I can see your point on all of those, really. I just wanted to chime in on the Moonraker issue. For me, Moonraker is trash. It is one of two Bond movies that I legitimately hate. Star Wars took off in the box office, so EON decided to make "James Bond...in SPACE" (I wanted to make the word 'space' echo, but there's no clever way to do that in print).

I don't know what it would be called in such a mainstream action-adventure film series, but these movies are pretty ridiculous. That's not campy? What would it be then...
The only one of the films I happily sat through twice (sadly, neither time in widescreen) was A View to a Kill. Gee...: Grace Jones, Duran Duran, a truly sexy bleached-blond Christopher Walken, a blimp, and Donna's mother from That 70's Show. I still on some level believe I dreamt it all.
