Wow, do I put this in Movies, TV, or Books? So many choices! If this is to be believed, Stephen King's Dark Tower series will be coming to theaters and TV screens, with the same principal cast for both, to tell the entire story of the Dark Tower. Wow. If this is true, colour me floored!

I'd be stoked if it weren't being helmed by Ron Howard and written by Akiva Goldman. Not to diss Opie or anything but I really don't think he's right for the dark tower. I personally felt that J.J Abrams and his Lost buddies were perfect for the project and was deeply upset when they decided not to do it. Mostly because I know they would have adapted it in the best possible way. Where as Goldman wrote Batman & Robin, so I really don't trust his adaptation skills.
Let's pray for the best possible outcome!

Mostly because I know they would have adapted it in the best possible way. Where as Goldman wrote Batman & Robin, so I really don't trust his adaptation skills. Let's pray for the best possible outcome! I'm with you. While I normally can't stand Ain't It Cool News, Quint wrote a pretty good piece on it a few days ago. Two bits encapsulated my thoughts: "I haven’t spoken to either of these two men, so I don’t know where they’re coming from with regards to The Dark Tower series, but if it’s anything less than a 'This is going to be my legacy' point of view then this isn’t going to work. " and "Howard is a very safe director, who delivers safe movies for the studios. The Dark Tower needs somebody willing to be risky, willing to be nearly as insane as the books." J.J. would have been great, and, in my opinion, if he couldn't figure out how to make this work, then Howard has no chance. Not to mention that signing actors to a 3-movie, 3-season TV show deal is probably going to write off any chance of landing the big names they're throwing around for casting. So, in other words, I'm pretty pessimistic about this whole thing.
