i kind of love it. i'm not sure what friends mean when they say they spend hours and hours on there playing around, because it seems like myspace is more appropriate for that sort of tomfoolery.
but i need more people! if you're on facebook or myspace, hit me up! i love attention!

Haha. Facebook owns my life, I think. The only thing is, they've given it a horrendous new look and features and it's a little bit creepier and more stalker-ish.
But yeah. Hijinks abound.

I like the stalker-ish-ness of it. Pretty cool stuff.

yeah, the "know exactly what your friends are doing" element is super-creepy. i understand the kind of "heard it through the grapevine" effect they were going for, but it just turned out way too invasive. you can hide your own actions so they don't show up, but you really shouldn't have to, you know?

Haha. There's actually an official global group against "the feed" that's got over 100,000 members. Crazy, man, crazy.

I'm on facebook too, and trying not to let it rule my life.
Trying and kind of failing, just so you know.

Facebook is gradually taking over the spot that myspace used to fill in my life. Sorry myspace, we're just downsizing.
I don't like the Feed. Too 1984-Big-Brother-ish.

you know, i still love them both.
facebook is most useful for keeping in touch with old college classmates THAT I CAN TRUST. after all, i've got my most sensitive personal info on there. my "home phone" is the number of the mcdonald's by my house, though. trust no one!
myspace is for keeping in touch with all those people along with a macabre cast of characters that wouldn't necessarily blend together well in a party setting but think i'm the coolest person alive, which of course i am.
i'm not sure which one i like the best. i guess i lean towards myspace, since it's more versatile and a larger variety of friends rock on it. but facebook is the more professional choice. hmm: tough to choose!

Rise, dead thread! I've come very late to Facebook, and I can spend hours on there. Add me if you want. Search for "crimewave" and I'm the only person who comes up, or if you're lazy, pm me and I'll give you my name.

I of course have a Facebook....Even God has a Facebook (and he attends Chico State, btw.) But I'm not really addicted to it. I check/update once a week, and am more attached to my LiveJournal. But it is awesome anyway. And the feed has grown on me. It's not as stalkeresque anymore.

yep. i love facebook; if you're looking for new friends, find me!
the only lame thing is that, although i agree the news feed is more stable and less stalker-esque, no matter what i do with my preferences, i can't escape disturbing updates from my ex-girlfriends.
unfair!

I deleted my Myspace page a few weeks ago. For me, it's Facebook all the way now.
And I just realized the website link on my profile now goes to a myspace page that doesn't exist, so that'll change in a minute.

The best part about Facebook are the groups! Does anyone else go into random sprees of group-joining?

Ohhhhh yes. "I haven't read that literary classic, but I have seen the Wishbone!", "Writing Papers Single Spaced First Makes My Double Spaced Result Climactic" (this one has a particularly delightful mini-essay at the beginning), "F.I.N.A.L.S (F***, I Never Actually Learned this S***)" (just because of the name), "It's Not My Fault What You Said Can Be Misconstrued as A Sexual Innuendo." Then there's the REALLY off-beat ones, like the ones about enjoying stepping on crunchy leaves, or flipping your pillow over for the cool spot. And the ones that are sheer fangirl fun, like my Firefly and North & South and Kenneth Branagh (I wish I knew how to quit him!) groups. And then there's "let's see what Facebook can do" groups, like 6* of separation and the Team Red/Team Blue rivalry.
I <3 facebook.
