being able to log back into the forum (evidently it decided, on its own, to temporarily block my access)

After two months of acute non-fun, happiness is all of this:
Finally, actually being on vacation. Knowing your best friend is flying across the country in five days to see you. Going to see BNL in four days. Quitting a terrible job. Submitting a paper for a colloquium for the first time ever. And being able to write 8,927 words in six days. (OK, that part wasn't fun, but knowing I did it is.)

Going to see BNL in four days. Lucky! Have you seen 'em before, or is this a first time show?

...getting your Praxis scores back and finding out you rocked 'em. 190 out of 200, sweet! -D That is pretty sweet. Both of my parents are teachers, so I've heard all about the Praxis. -_-;; Seriously, though... that's great.

Going to see BNL in four days. Lucky! Have you seen 'em before, or is this a first time show? I saw their Christmas concert live, which was amazing. But this is their first 'regular' concert I'll be seeing.

We went and saw them about three months ago. Decent concert, but the BNL fans there were way, WAY too intense for a lite pop group. One guy was all frothy and ecstatic when he learned it was our first BNL concert, and kept going "Hey! These guys are Barenaked Virgins!" I countered with a Barenaked stare and we moved.

Your home-made beef stir-fry turns out perfectly when the only Chinese you've ever had before came from a Chinese restaraunt.

Simultaneously eating Haagen-Dazs (only because I couldn't find Ben & Jerry's, Nancy), turning the heel on a sock, and singing along to/mocking Phantom of the Opera.

Seeing two little kids at your bus stop spontaneously start singing "Joy to the World." The "Jeremiah was a bullfrog" one, not the carol.

Taking a break from writing an essay - one that actually cracking on pretty well, surprisingly - for a much needed tea & peanut butter toast & five pages of good sci fi break.

Happiness is several things sometimes...
-Eating Chinese food while watching "Serenity" (with the explanation that since they didn't do so much Chinese swearing in the movie, we just had to make up for it with Chinese food). -A week of 80-degree weather in March. -Randomly stumbling upon the Wikipedia article for the "Vital Information For Your Everyday Life" segment from "All That." -Going to see your favorite band of all time in three days! (Decemberists w00t)

Happiness is celebrating Passover with your friends....and only one of you is Jewish.
