H$30,084,560.04 Breaking the 30 million mark on the Hollywood Stock Exchange before Duckie had a chance to catch up and whup me again. (Of course by this afternoon, I might be back under the mark, but I made it!) Go me.

H$22,989,369.79 I'm catching up, but at a glacial pace... maybe I'll overtake you when I reach H$50MM. In the meantime, it's been an interesting back-and-forth with Magill. Go me.

...hearing a song on the radio you haven't heard since the first time, six months ago.
Long story.

...knowing that, after waiting for ten years, THE STEELERS ARE BACK IN THE SUPER BOWL!!! Justin, just in case you haven't figured it out, we're invading Detriot, and we're taking the Seahawks down with us!
Life is awesome.

Justin, just in case you haven't figured it out, we're invading Detriot, and we're taking the Seahawks down with us! Life is awesome. It's just killing me. I've done pretty well in my Fantasy Football playoff league. (Third place last week!) But I have NO idea who to pick for the Super Bowl because I like them both. It might just be one heck of a game.

Well, the Steelers' head coach went to NCSU. So it's a bit of an obligation for me to pull for 'em.

ooh, two answers!
1. going to ****** (name withheld to protect my hook-up) to find out why the dvd of the television show 'grosse point' (a wonderfully humorous show from 2000 or so) got delayed. they didn't know, but they did know they didn't send back the one copy they got in that got recalled and had no problem selling it to me, so i am potentially the only person ON EARTH who owns the complete series.
2. hearing that "bad day" song by daniel powter in conjunction with 'american idol' (my friends are idiots) and getting it stuck in my head . . . and then seeing a little snippet of the video and realizing "hey, i think that was samaire armstrong of 'the oc' in there!" . . . then proceeding to download the song and video and happily realizing the song is fun AND the video is a cute little depiction of 20-something angst starring the wonderful samaire. i'm so happy!
and in addition to those: i got all the neil gaiman 'sandman' trade paperbacks used and super-cheap, i found the mini pirate fleet toy ships with tiny figures for 'pirates of the caribbean: dead man's chest," i have shameless flirting going on on multiple fronts, i'm illustrating (badly) my own comic book, and i'm about to try a bowl of 'banana bonanza' ice cream.
hooray!

Daniel Powter's album makes me happy. (See how I kept this on topic?) Bad Day, Song 6, and Lie to Me just make me sing along and bebop around (don't ask, just go along with it). I haven't seen the Bad Day video, so I'll have to check that out.

3rd Grader: Gee, I can't wait till I get into high school.
Billy Madison: [whispering] Don't you say that. Don't you ever say that. Stay here. Stay here as long as you can. For the love of God, cherish it. You have to cherish it!

...when your wife takes you on date night on a long scavenger hunt that, at one point, ends up at your church, where a nice crowd of people jump out at you -- in full pirate getups -- and shout "surprise!" and throw you a birthday party for your 30th.
I've honestly never been so surprised. Pirate birthdays rock! My parents gave me a treasure chest full of one dollar coins, I got a harmonica and a pirate flag and a pirate water fountain. My office has a new theme.
Caramel apparently went to insane lengths to set this up, to get all sorts of people to write me letters, and to get my mom to come up and bring a huge box of my childhood writings and pictures that I'd totally forgotten about. It was groovy.
