....a flood in the basement. I filled up the shop-vac five times this morning before coming to work. I hope the kids don't drown.

the fact that Telltale Games doesn't have any of its games available for Mac. How I miss Sam and Max... Ha... you know, I just bought "Surfin' the Highway," a book that collects every Sam & Max comic from 1987 to the present. Haven't read it yet, but I've heard good things. -D

Having the bunny rabbit that you and your wife bought as one of the first things you ever did together as a married couple die for no good reason.

Oh man, J... I'm sorry. I wish there was something I could say to make it better. Lady Luck and I have been there with our first rabbit (RIP, Bender), and it's a horrible feeling. Please accept our condolences. The vet told us that's the trouble with rabbits: because they're prey animals, their instinct is to hide sickness at all costs, usually until it's too late to do anything. -D

Thanks man... I really feel like it was my fault. I brought her and the dog to get their nails clipped, and the groomers said they could give her a bath (her butt was a little matted), so I left her with them. Picked her up, brought her home and then she died -- kinda makes me wonder if she was scared to death (I've heard rabbits get this way) or if they used some type of chemicals or whatnot.

...Being unable to escape your job even when you sleep.
I wouldn't call them nightmares, but for the last three or four nights I've been having these frustrating dreams about work. It's not even crazy off the wall stuff, but stuff people actually do in real life. So then I wake up all angry, and I haven't even started the day - where I'm going to have to deal with that crap anyway.
Blessed Summer, please come quickly.

Watching your kid's face when after waiting by the door for half an hour, he realizes that not one person who promised to come over for his birthday video-pizza bash is going to show up. I know you wrote this about three years ago but still....it makes me so sad. I was always that kid. My birthday is December 20th. Misery is having your birthday 5 days before the most over-commercialized holiday on the planet. NO ONE but the closest family members who felt most obliigated EVER came to my birthday parties. You know, because who wants to have to buy yet ANOTHER gift on top of the mindless piles of gifts they've already bought for their children/spouse/grandchildren/siblings/friends/coworkers/acquaintances? Also, my birthday happened the week after our school got out for holiday break, so I never got to wear that birthday crown in the lower grades, and no classroom birthday bashes in my honor.

Oh and if I may...
Misery is waking up at noon after yet another alcoholic binge and realizing that you once again broke your promise with yourself to get out of this. Not to mention you ingested about 1000 calories worth of liquid and your weight loss will never happen at that rate.

Is it bad that I post in here yet almost never actually read the thread?
Anyway, misery is having the house you've been trying to buy since February be put back on the market because the sellers decided, apparently, they'd rather take their chances than wait for mid-July to close. I just don't get it.
