You call this a birthday? Why, in my day, all we had was wood-burnin' birthdays, and we were glad to get 'em, by gum, what with the typhoid and pirates and them great toothy lizards and such. Why, on my very first birthday I had to wrastle a chicken to get a few eggs for my cake, and milk the cow too! Those were the days when we had to walk up hill to and from school in blizzards every day, and we put baked potatos in our mittens to keep our hands warm. Course we ate the potatos for lunch and froze to death on the way home, but things were tough in those days and a potato was nothing to sneeze at. Why the poor neighbor children only had turnips for their mittens, and a turnips just doesn't hold the heat, nosirreebob... Thanks you guys! I don't know what I'd ever do if I didn't have my mutant friends to torment me with such great affection.
