Program - WordPerfect 12
Project - Newsletter
Problem - By the beginning of the third paragraph it believes the text is a hyperlink. It is NOT a hyperlink! I can't get rid of the flippin' hyperlink! It won't tell me how to do it! Oh, it's more than happy to explain how to actually MAKE a hyperlink, but not how to exorcise one. (If anyone makes any jokes about weight lifting or aerobics, that person is a very doomed person.)
Your Mission - Keep Sue from going postal. How do I get rid of the blasted thing? Backspacing beyond it doesn't work, deleting doesn't work, sacrificing hamsters doesn't work.
That is all. Thank you for your cooperation.

I was about to reply before I realized you specified Wordperfect... I know how to do it in MS Word (and it's really easy). Hope Philotix's tip helped.

Nope, Philotix's website didn't apply to my word processor, but thanks for trying! I ended up scrapping the entire thing and starting it over a different way. WordPerfect is probably my largest regret about this computer. I miss MS Word. For that matter, I even miss Lotus, and I used to hate that too. *sigh*
Thanks anyway guys!

Might I suggest you use OpenOffice.org? It is completely free and is comparable to MS Word.

From a google search using the keywords "removing hyperlinks word perfect" (I make no claims that this will work for you, but give it a shot)...
To manually delete a single hyperlink from a document: 1. Click on View, and select Reveal Codes. 2. Click on Edit, Find and Replace. 3. Click on Match from the menu, and select Codes. 4. Select the [HyperLink Begin] code from the list and select the Insert&Close button. 5. Click on the Find Next button. 6. When a HyperLink code is found, it can be removed by clicking and dragging it out of the Reveal Codes window.
To remove all hyperlinks in a document: 1. Click on View, and select Reveal Codes. 2. Click on Edit, Find and Replace. 3. Click on Match from the menu, and select Codes. 4. Select the [HyperLink Begin] code from the list and select the Insert&Close button. 5. Make sure the Replace with windows says <Nothing>. 6. Click on the Replace All button.

Well that's your problem, you need an old priest and a young priest. You use hampsters on the Blue Screen of Death.
