08-31-2006, 01:46 PM Hey guys,
I would like to announce an upcoming contest on SPAM for people who love to make awesome uberscary movies and win some bucks doin it.
Anyway these are the gruesome details:
the theme is: the scary beginning to something real or imagined (make of this concept what you will, you genius you) however -- and this is the twist -- the video submissions cannot be funny or camp. You have to try scaring the sh*t out of us.The video clips have to be 1 to 3 minutes long and you can submit multiple entries. Winner gets $2,500 and a DVD. Needless to say (but it will still be said) the winning video gets great publicity on our site.
We want you to showcase your awesome, terror-inspiring skills. We know you have it in you, so go ahaid and scare us to tiny bloody pieces.
Please email me at SPAM if you're interested so i can have an idea of how many people are actually thinking about doing this. Or just respond to this post. The contest rules will be up on SPAM on Sept 11, and we'll be accepting submissions from then until Sept 21.
cheers! Quay

I, too, wonder how "legal" this is.
That's it.
I'm reporting you to the FBI, fraud division.

I love the TCM movies but I'm with Justin this sounds "fishy".

I'm trying to figure out why the Texas Chainsaw Massacre PR people would think it a good idea to have their movie website be spam.com.

What does he mean, "...it can be fiction..."? This is optional?

I would hope there is no family like there is in the original TCM.

I'm trying to figure out why the Texas Chainsaw Massacre PR people would think it a good idea to have their movie website be spam.com. To you this may be spam, but to someone smart enough to try it out and win some greens, this posting is a miracle. Instead of negheading, why don't you brew some creative juices and submit something? At least don't ruin it for the filmmaker who may be inspired by this theme. ta ta

What does he mean, "...it can be fiction..."? This is optional? it is optional. It can be what you want it to be, as long as it adheres to the theme in a clear way.
