Is this it? Is this IT? The Score!StarOpal continues her late round brain fartage, but hang on for 4 points! StormRider nabs 6 in a dazzling first around the post submission. And as strange as it sounds, I've never actually heard the maple referred to as "Canadian leafs". Interesting! OogieBoogie also drops off 3 points. Mystery, Alaska is set in ALASKA. And seeing as you're guessing at the leaf thing and haven't seen the movie, I'm going to go out on a limb and say "BZZZZZZ"! Plus, well done, TattleTaleRider. Starwenn gets 4 points, for repeating South Park. Welcome to the game! It's over! Blinkfan submits the fifth post (poor Lonestarr, stuck at number 6 again!) for 5 points. Well done, little fellow, you truly embiggen us all. So where's that finally leave us? The Score!StarOpal 53 Lordmoon 35 OogieBoogieMan 33 StormRider 31 MrShady 16 SpiderDancer 15 Blinkfan 15 Headmutant 11 Magill 10 Big T 9 Lissa 9 Vorlina 6 PfrSue 5 Starwenn 4 Lonestar 2 And that means... After an underdog stumble and loss to Mac & Death late in the first round of MSH, StarOpal struts her stuff and shows us exactly why it never pays to do work at work. Answering in almost every round, she beat out competition from across the Atlantic who couldn't even be bothered to stay up until 3AM just to not win a prize! Congrats, Opal! And thank you to everyone for playing. I hope you've had a great time and enjoyed the new format. If you have any suggestions for future rules or ideas on how to make the game better (besides "tell me when you're going to post"), this is the place! Otherwise, I open the floor to gloating, trash talk, and ridiculous amounts of speculation on what move that maple leaf is from. ... Just kidding. Poor Lonestarr had it right. Ah well, next time.

Way to go, StarOpal! And especially "way to go", me, for maintaining the third-placity I established last time around.

I'd like to dedicate this honor to my mother, who makes any movie knowledge I may have look elementary and taught me everything I know about being a movie nerd. (And that's true BTW)
And say thank you to my boss, who doesn't care what I do as long as I get my work done.
To the Mutants for having such a great movie site. Especially to PoolMan for his dedication in making such a fun contest. Even if he is a meanie head... Nanner.
To everyone else for being groovy opponents. "Way to go!" back at ya', OogieBoogie.
I will accept this great honor with pride!

Oh yeah, fourth place, a definite growth for me from sixth place last time, I would have done better if it weren't for this huge damn pond beetween me and the New World. *shaking fist at the Atlantic*
Suggestion time: how about enlarging the number of items, players and score. 7 items, first 7 players and 70 points needed to win. Also what about not awarding an extra point to the first one who posts? I think this would make the contest just a bit more fair to those of us who either live in +X time zones, or who don't have such nice bosses like StarOpal, or school.
Oh and could we maybe get another round till the end of the year?
And about the maple leaf, we don't have maples in my part of the country and I have never seen any, however that maple leaf also looks a lot like a grapevine leaf to me so I said Canadian leaf to be sure.

Tall order don't you think, Storm Rider? I mean at the current settings it took ten rounds and fifty clues. That's only because the winner was in every round and got bonuses. You're talking about at least another twenty clues. He's just one Pool Man!
I will say I do like the idea of expanding it to seven people though.

Fair suggestions, all. Actually, looking at the other side of the coin, the first around the post point might not be such a great idea after all. It might just give an unfair advantage. But StarOpal didn't take that point EVERY time. Still, worth considering. About expanding the number of questions/players/points... whew. It's true, I AM only one Pool-Man. That'd be tough to keep up. Maybe I'd go to at least six so Lonestarr could play? The only other thing was the questions themselves. I wanted to ask things I thought people could get, but that created a lot of 5 point (or more!) answers. Maybe they should be tougher, less reasonable. And the picture thing, while I really thought it added some fun, was a lot harder to come up with clues for than I would have thought. Was it worth the extra effort? I like to think so, but probably because it's my idea. Finally, everyone loves an underdog, and I admit feeling sorry for StarOpal when she lost the first round. Mac and Death played a great first game, but Opal might have taken him, but for a couple goofups. You played an excellent game this time around, well done!

Well I liked the picture clue thing. Even if you take out the first completely correct answerer bonus point, I think you should keep that one. If it isn't too much trouble. The special midgame bonus round was a nice touch too.
After that, I think the updated rules this round were good and that the game went a lot smoother (the Atlantic ocean and employers aside). Also, the one hunt per day was better than the unknown amount, and the giving of a general time frame.
At least that's my feedback.

Here's a suggestion: Since the picture thing was more work than you aticipated you could come up with different bonus elements or questions each round. For example: a bonus for being last, a bonus for mentioning 3 different colours, a bonus for using a quote with every answer, stuff like that.

Here's a suggestion: Since the picture thing was more work than you aticipated you could come up with different bonus elements or questions each round. For example: a bonus for being last, a bonus for mentioning 3 different colours, a bonus for using a quote with every answer, stuff like that. I like the pictures better too, but that's a hella good suggestion. Very interesting indeed. No reason we couldn't do both. I also agree with Opal, upon consideration. Removing the first around the post point but keeping the bonus point for picture finding (or others, per Big T) is a good idea. Originally it was meant to reward those who were keen to play, but there were LOTS of people keen to play, so it ended up becoming a kind of penalty for those who couldn't get in first. I had also planned to do an all picture round every five rounds, but by round 10 (when Opal needed only one point to win and no one else could have caught her anyways) it seemed a moot point. And it's not that it's difficult to make the graphics. It's difficult finding them. You'd think it'd be the simplest thing in the world, but I found it can be quite a challenge, even when you have a specific movie and object in mind. I don't have the ability to take my own screencaps on my own (at least, I don't THINK I do!), so it's tricky. I was also pondering some kind of real penalty system, so the person who leaps out in front (as it tends to go) doesn't always necessarily win. Like, mentioning a CERTAIN movie for a given clue would actually subtract a point. What do you think?
