Yet another thread that may not be in its correct section. Oh well.
So, the other day--which is how I begin roughly two-thirds of my sentences--I was on Amazon looking to buy the 20th Anniversary Special Edition of Transformers: The Movie*.
As tends to be the case, there was a little footnote at the bottom of the product page that said, "Hey, if you're going to buy that, you should buy this too!"
The "this" in question was the 20th Anniversary Movie Edition Optimus Prime (exactly the same as the action figure released a couple of years back to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Transformers in general).
They were offering a teensy discount for buying both items together, so I said to myself, "By jove, I believe I will!"
I paid a little extra for two-day shipping, and was amazed when my items actually arrived two days later. I thought "two-day" meant "wait two days and then begin tentatively expecting," or "guaranteed to probably leave the warehouse in two days."
Anyway, the DVD is fun, with lots of little extras and whatnot.
As for the Movie Edition Optimus Prime, I can, with all confidence, say that it is not the coolest action figure I've ever seen.
It is the coolest thing I've ever seen. As in, across all categories. When I got it out of the box, I thought to myself, "Is it possible to die from having too much awesomeness thrust upon onesself? Because I honestly don't feel so good all of a sudden."
Fortunately, I've developed enough of a tolerance over the last couple of days that I can actually look directly at it now without giggling like a schoolgirl, so that's good.
*Items reversed for the sake of setup. I was really looking for the action figure and happened upon the movie.
