I know the thread title says "Silly" and not "Fan-Made Crap," but here goes anyway: War MachineIt's a teaser for a live-action GI Joe movie! Jubilation! Featured CobrasFirefly--I find suprisingly little to mock. The Baroness--Played by the least Baroness-like woman they could find. Featured JoesDuke--In the larger preview (naughty lyrics) he's revealed to have a thick Austrian accent, just like the Duke in the cartoon! Shipwreck--Appearances would seem to indicate that the not-appearing Joes are such because Shipwreck ate them. Beachhead--He dearly wishes there were something more significant than balaclava-color to distinguish him from Firefly. There's a fourth Joe who isn't mentioned in the description, but who I have deftly identified as. . .um. . .Captain Sweaterpatches? Wasn't he a mail-in only figure? Anyway, highlights include terrible music throughout, and Duke stomping an innocent tree out of frustration. But the best part by far--and when I say "best," I mean it in context--is the thoroughly gratuitous girl-kissing-girl part. Normally I'm not one to gripe, but it just felt a little hackneyed. I say just because it's a degrading and exploitative cliche doesn't mean it can't be better executed. Let's get some backstory. Why are the girls kissing? That's what concerns me. Okay, so the reason is actually obvious: It's because one of them is the quasi-Baroness, and federal law states that all femme fatale villainesses must be at least bisexual, if not exclusively lesbian. So, with that out of the way, my only remaining complaint is that I'd like for the other girl to not be a 12-year old. I know, picky me.

AMC's Hitchcock Week has reminded me of two of my favorite trailers of all time: Psycho The music is hilarious. Frenzy "Look, she's wearing my tie!"

Not a silly video at all, but one I was amazed to find on Youtube, and just had to share, because I actually witnessed this firsthand: HA-200 Saeta Jet Emergency Crash LandingI am unreasonably proud of myself to this day that I pointed out the fire under the nose a good two to three seconds before the rest of the crowd commenced with the requisite communal distressed muttering and gasping. While the pilot demonstrates considerable skill, I feel that the lion's share of accolades belong to the sound technician, who, throughout the whole ordeal, made sure that the squealy guitars never stopped.
