Not so much a Movie/comics/music/games post... Every so often in life you hit a "Hot Streak". A bunch of great things happen in your life back-to-back. Everybody post their Greatest Hot Streak.
1. I am OUT of the U.S. Army: "On Aug 22nd, 2007...... Mr Gallahad Left The Army for GOOD. He did NOT have to go back to Iraq and He still gets a FAT Army paycheck for at least one more month". (I knew being slightly kooky in the head would pay off one day)
2. I turn 28 on the first of September: Dang Skippy. The Big two-eight, two years shy of ancient, ONE step away from old Fart.
3. I am in Love: I have met an INCREDIBLE woman. She makes Life FUN and she has a dark, twisted sense of humor that I can't get enough of. (Oh yeah........ She's CANADIAN) ooooooooooo......
4. My 3 year old daughter told her mom "I wanna talk to Da-da" for the first time EVER yesterday. I managed to call her back shortly after she called and she told me "Happy Birthday" my heart melted shortly after.

Seriously, man... congratulations, that's terrific.
The hottest "streak" that immediately jumps to mind is just over 3 years ago, when I found out within a week or two of each other that I was being offered a staff position here at MRFH, and then that I was being promoted at work to a job that paid 2/3 again what I had been making. That was a nice month.

Congrats and happy birthday!!!!! I'm glad to hear you don't have to go back to Iraq- that's great news. And I'm sure your daughter is thrilled!
(And I know that feeling. I melt on the rare occasions Ducklet says "Love you" before I can. It really is one of the best feelings in the world, isn't it?)

Is it ever. Because of my last turbulent months in the army and my current work schedule, it's been almost 6 months since I've been able to go and visit her. These things happen. When I get a weekend off and I get my money straight I am going to go visit her. MUCH "daddy-surfing" and "claw" will take place.

A belated congrats, I know what it feels like getting out. It can be gratifying and humbling at the same time.

This is my second time getting out. I got out of the Marine Corps in 2002. I was a TERRIBLE civilian for the 2 years in between the Marines and the Army. I'm doing a LOT better this time around. Haveing a good job set up Months before the discharge date helps.
