In an effort to get my considerable rear in gear by way of New Year's resolution-style imaginary pressure from others, I am making the following public oath: Tonight, I shall finally begin actual work on the fiction piece I've been mentally drafting for the past. . .I'm just going to say "a while."
The piece in question is shaping up to be rather huge--weighing in at approximately eleven pages of Mnemonic Niblets(tm) thus far, at about twenty per page. For the sake of perspective, one of my observational blurbs or rating sets usually only rank about two or three MNs, if any at all. So this is not only looking to be the biggest thing I've ever written, but also my first fiction foray of any import.
Unfortunately for me and my foolish pride, this will be fanfiction; that most vile and despised of all creative media. So, it's not only inherently unpublishable--in the commercial sense, at least; I can still post it on fanfiction.net where it will potentially be read by literally tens of people--but all of the "real" authors will make fun of me for it. And when I say "All of the 'real' authors will make fun of me for it," I of course mean, "Thanks to an asinine inferiority complex, I will imagine all of the 'real' authors making fun of me, when in fact they don't actually care one way or the other or even know who I am."
So, anyway; that's that. I've deliberately been fuzzy on the details in the hopes of inspiring inquiry, whereupon I will say, "That's a secret! Tee-hee!" and scamper away on my imp hooves.
