Greetings, fellow posters! We here at MRFH greatly appreciate what each and every one of you brings to our little community, and we'd love to have the opportunity to expand that circle. In the interest of that, we have a favor to ask you. As you know, voting has already begun for this year's AMA Awards, coinciding with the ongoing celebration of MRFH's 10th anniversary. The request we have of you is simple: spread the word. Friends, blogs, message boards, websites, that homeless guy who yells things in front of the theater... let them all know that your favorite cult film website is pulling out all the stops for this year's awards, and the more people who vote, the better! We got a big boost last year from Serenity fans, which was cool, but it also gave Lissa bragging rights and that's not okay. So this year we'd like to cast our nets wide and draw in as many fans of the cult, the eccentric, and the downright weird as we possibly can.
What's in it for me, you ask? Aside from the sincere gratitude of a bunch of unpaid movie geeks, you mean? Ha ha, only kidding. You want a reward? Fine. You are welcome (though certainly not required) to ask anyone you send our way to add, after whatever else they may write in the Comments section, "Referred by [your poster name]." Once all the votes are tallied, whoever referred the most people will be able to make me review one (1) movie of their choosing*. (And the last time I let that happen it was 13 Going On 30, so make it good.) Not enough for you? Okay, we'll sweeten the pot- if we see a significant increase in voters from last year, Justin will use a big, hairy red baboon's ass as his avatar for an entire week. I haven't actually run that by him, but I'm sure he's cool with it.
Make sense? All we're asking you to do is share your enjoyment of the site, and there's prizes to be had to boot. Feel free to use this thread to ask questions, brag about your successes, or come up with a cool posse name (I suggest "The Regulators"), but the important thing is to SPREAD THE WORD!
*Standard stipulations apply- movie must be no higher than R-rated, and one I can either get ahold of through Netflix or that you're willing to send me a copy of. And yes, I know you could just go to the computer lab and "refer" yourself multiple times, but don't do that because a) if you're the only guy who referred 106 people, we'll kinda know, and b) just please don't. I'm invoking the honor system: winners never cheat, cheaters never win.
