let's say someone (named, uh, lyle) received a bootleg dvd of 'juno' from a friend today. let's say the dvd quality is astonishingly superb, with a title menu and chapters and everything.
however: let's also make it clear that lyle is such a fan of 'juno' that he fully intends to buy the official dvd upon its release.
lyle is still going to heaven, right? or at least rock'n'roll heaven?

My friend, let's call her Tara, says yes. And also wonders whether Lyle's friend can be her friend too.
Seriously: for some unknown reason I consider downloading/stealing/bootlegging music completely different from downloading/stealing/bootlegging movies. I've never downloaded a movie or TV episode that I wasn't planning to buy.

Am... I mean... umm... Jamie... agrees, and also wants Lyle's friend to be her friend.
I'm with Sarahbot- I always buy the real thing once it's out. I have a friend who offered me a bootleg of 'The Passion of The Christ.' I turned that down. That would have sent me to hell.

I don't see the point. I pay for HBO... but HBO feels like showing the same movies I don't want to watch, over and over. Every so often they'll either show one good one, or cram one good one down your throat over and over again and again and again and again and so forth and so forth. So, I'd rather just download the movie and then I watch it... and then usually delete it. Big deal. The way I see it, I'm still paying for HBO, so, this is just taking the bull by the horns and watching their movies when I want to.
Doesn't matter though, because all movies suck compared to watching Real Ghostbusters on youtube.
