basically, i need to set up a personal pop culture/existentially angst blog to impress girls, one specific girl in particular.
so i'm curious if livejournal is still the best thing out there or if there is something better, faster, and stronger that i'm simply unaware of.
and if you have any suggestions on how to make a blog look like its owner is particularly interesting, virile, and "complex" i'm open to that, too. thanks!

Most bloggers I know either use Blogger (blogspot.com) or Wordpress. Wordpress offers more muscle, but is a bit harder to work with, whereas Blogger is idiot-friendly.
The MNA uses blogger.

Kyle, nothing says "virile" like hot pink. Most bloggers I know either use Blogger (blogspot.com) or Wordpress. Wordpress offers more muscle, but is a bit harder to work with, whereas Blogger is idiot-friendly. The MNA uses blogger. What are you trying to say, Justin? *eyebrow raise*

I have both Blogger and LiveJournal. Here's my two cents:
LJ is much, much better if you want to get into the community aspect of it. For some reason people comment much more on LJ. This is great because you can make new friends, and the friendslist is genius. This can also be a minus, because before I got into LJ again I felt a little on the outside when I would read LJ blogs.
Blogger is much less pushy about selling accounts. LJ is forever telling me I can voicepost or have more icons or whatever if I get a paid account. Blogger maintenance is more laidback.
LJ is much easier to use, especially with pictures. I hate Blogger's way of incorporating pictures into text. I make a lot of macros on LJ and there's no way I would do as many if my favourite comms were on Blogger.
LJ looks nicer, with lots more options on layout.
Blogger, on the whole, seems far more professional. I like my LJ, but I always feel like I'm 16 again when I'm on it, and there's apparently where the median age has stayed. I don't have a problem telling people I have a blogspot blog. I would be embarrassed to tell people I have an LJ, because there is a real - I don't want to say stigma, but definitely associations with LJ.
